A ? For SE Wisconsin or Northern Illinois...
I'm officially pi*sed off at Carmax of Kenosha
....Employees there knew me by heart. I built a good "Client & Business" relationship with them by buying two Scions from them. And also let their service department be the only ones touching them. Then of course; I also bought extra Scion accessories from their parts department. Some employees stated; "We should just give you a job." So I applied; once in May '06 for full time detailer then again in September '06 as full time sales consultant. Someone from sales stated I should apply again; so I did last Friday. Yesterday; I walk to my mailbox and saw they gave me the "Letter" stating I was "Too over qualified" to sell cars for part time...they didn't even give me interview.
So...I decided to cut all ties with Carmax. The dealer decal is coming off later today....
My question is; anyone can recommend a good service shop at their dealer? Could be in Lake County, IL or even Milwaukee...I'm willing to drive for some oil changes.
Thanks!

Come and see us! Our service department is great! Our customers rave about us! Hopefully we're not too far for you. Auto dealers don't really do any "part-time" sales people, maybe that's the excuse for blowing you off. That sucks.

Carmax does hire part-time for S.C. Today, I found out by certain resource; a sales manager from Carmax, who I happened to know. Stated to apply again in 6 months. I explained to her "How in the hell can I get into one of Illinois hardest companies but not Carmax?" She laughed and said "Apply again in 6 months..." I guess its my stupid a$$ fault for jumping the gun to apply again without waiting extra two months.
My tC was a Andrew Scion transfer...I didn't realize it until I got home with it from Carmax and I looked at my window sticker saw "Andrew Scion" for shipping address. Little fact about Bullitt.

Well, I wrote them a nice simple letter back...and I have couple things on order at parts department.
You guys should see the letter I wrote to them. I can't "copy and paste" at the moment since I'm at work and that file is on my home computer.

Well, here's the thing
....
"Thank you for viewing my application as a part time sales consultant. I will apply once again in six months to continue my ongoing process becoming a Carmax Associate. I personally feel this future opportunity will give me the chance of giving back the same wonderful service I have received as a current customer. Also at the same time; I will share my passion with cars to other current and future customers while building strong “Customer and Business” relationships.
I will continue our personal “Customer and Business” relationship on a good level by bringing my personal future business and service needs."-That's the letter they got from me.
I realized with the recent posts of other users...Carmax likes to treat me like a queen compared to other Scion owners with their dealerships. I rarely had serious issue with their Service department. Then of course; Sales has been known to get the APR lower than what originally offered. It's not every day; Toyota offers 12% at first then Sales came in and got me 8.5%.

Wow, employers still say 'overqualified' to people? To a lawyer, this usually means discrimination of some sort. Usually age, but it says you're 23, so I kinda doubt they think you're too old for it.
Guess it's just bad form, but I'm surprised they said this. It's a big no no to say these days.

Here could be some reasons....
1. I work for one of hardest companies to get hired at in Illinois. Which I work in 400,000 sq ft warehouse and I have to operate $30,000+ forklift truck. I happened to make close to $17.00 a hr.
2. I have a year of college from 4 year public university.
3. 1 speeding ticket & 1 car accident on my driving record which should be cleared sometime this year.
4. I used my sales consultant's name for "Know any friends or relatives who currently are employed at a Carmax" question and never asked her before.
I think next time I apply and get an interview...I might want to admit that I do have Learning Disability and see what they say then. I'll be professional about it...

I didnt get into carmax either & i am a top ranked ism. they never told me why though...i wouldnt sweat them too much. they are a glorified internet site brought to life. the sales people couldnt upsell to save their life & have very limited product knowledge.
oh yeah, did you take that test before you talked to a hiring manager?

I'll back Don Jacobs any day of the week, even though I bought my car from Wilde here in Milaukee. DJ is actually our club sponsor, kind of nice when ever we need to use some lifts for installs.

By the way, I still haven't done anything to the tC yet except for a oil change (Tight on money at the moment) and I took it to 10 minute oil change shop. I paid more but my tC seems to enjoy Mobil oil over Toyota brand oil.
