YOU'VE BEEN SPOTTED: But mostly threadjacking.
what clear coat did you use? and how many coats of paint? ( i've already got a rattle can full of color matched paint to do it; but didn tknow about the rest.....making it my winter project)
Well I work in a bodyshop so I used a automotive finish (Sikkens) basecoat clear. I first spray on a sealer helps adhesion and an even surface to refinish over. The basecoat depends on coverage. Normally on FM 2 to 3 coats. Clear I usually use 2 coats then I can nib the dirt and buff shiny if need be.
sorry i didnt pay attention to the age lol. hmm when it comes to working on cars i've learned that if you provide the parts (or paint in this case) and you buy them food, drinks, gas, ect... that will usually hold them over. my buddy had a guy help him build a system and he got him a case of budlight and dinner (wish that worked for the guy helping me lol)
if you need a place to order color matched paint there is a place in the chicago area that i ordered mine from online that i can give you the site for
