Darline is a 25 year old, bubbly, fun-loving, lively girl who cares very much for her friends and loves her family deeply. On her last two months of school in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse, she had a tragic car accident at Memphis, Tennessee last April 2010.
Darline suffered multiple fractures in her head, legs, arms and ribs. She also injured her spine and had to undergo a spinal fusion to stabilize her spine because of the trauma caused by the accident. Because of this, the doctors have classified her injury as “complete” Spinal Cord Injury (Paraplegic). This means that she has no voluntary motor or conscious sensory function below the injury sight.
Darline had been in the in-patient facility for the past 6 months and currently receiving outpatient therapy at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. She has no medical insurance and therefore, we are holding a benefit on behalf of Darline. 100% of all proceeds raised through ticket sales, raffles and cash donations will go directly to her to help pay for things not covered by Medicaid.
