First post and first Scion xB in The Bahamas ...
hello, this is my first post and i just wanted to introduce myself to this forum. i am a canadian born hockey player that spent five seasons in the minor leagues. my first experience with scion was while playing in las vegas in 2003-04. i bought one and loved it. my brother is in the car business in canada so we imported it and sold it in the maritimes. as far as i know, it was the first scion in canada. anyway, my wife and i moved to the bahamas a little over a year ago and decided it would be the perfect vehicle for island life. a small vehicle is great because of the narrow island roads and gas is currently $4.58 / gallon, so the mileage helps out, big time. about a month ago we imported the first scion xb in the bahamas. i bought a used 2004 xb for $11,400.00 which seems like a decent price. the kicker is the duty in the bahamas ... 52% for vehicles under $15,000.00! crazy eh? after the vehicle cost, shipping, duty, etc. the vehicle ended up costing us just under $20,000.00. seems like a lot for a used xb, but we love it and so does everyone else! sure we could have bought a used car here for less but when you have the scion bug, it itches! anyway, i just wanted to say hello and i look forward to hearing back from some of you.
Working (its the Bahamas!) or retired (29yo!) either way it sounds great!
Especially with an xB to drive! Congrats on the first xB there and welcome.
$4.58 a gallon...makes our $3.65 SoCal regular sound cheap.

@ craigxb and tanakasan, i guess you could say that i retired to the bahamas. unfortunately, i am only retired from hockey. i work as an importer now and life is good. check my profile for a picture of my xb in the driveway! all the best.
