??
So thats what happened
Im sorry! I was parked directly across from you in the hotel and saw the b Sunday morning when i was leaving the hotel, i was wondering what had happened - unfortunately i live in OKC or i would help you track em down.
On that same note - this is not meant to offend ANY police officers who are on the forum - you may be a great guy - it just seems anytime something has happened to me or friends they refuse to help - my appt got broken into - i knew who did it and even knew the persons last location. They refused to even follow up on it - heck it took 2 hrs just to have an officer come by and let me file the report. I recovered some of my stuff when a friend of mine who knew the person convinced his roommate to let him in the house and see if any of my stuff was there - when my friend went in his house he found my notebook and a few other thigns and took them back and brought them to me. My 42" LCD was never recovered. The police had taken zero action - the roommate who was already ____ed at the thief for not paying his part of the rent for the past 2 months was happy to help us - he said the cops never came by to speak to him or contact him using the phone number i provided to the police.
2 years later - this weekend - i along with my group was detained for supposedly waiving a gun at someone and shooting at semis - none of which was true - the police had no problem tracking us down IN A HURRY and detaining me and treating myself, who has a 0 arrest record - with only 1 traffic violation on my record - like a career criminal.
Than this brings me to your situation - youre involved ina hit and run (this is the way i understand it) and the police refuse to even try to investigate and find the individual responsible? By telling you that you need to find the car and call them theyre basically saying you need to do their job. I think you brought them plenty of information to work with such as a reasonably small location to search for the vehicle and a good description of the driver. But whatever i guess this is just how things are.

You need to talk to the police chief, a hit and run is a criminal offense. and make sure to tell them that your lawyer will be contacting their dept. for details why they told you to find the offending party yourself.
