Question AEM CAI , TRD Lowering Springs & PUDDLES OH MY !

All advice is "avoid deep water but with the trd lowering springs and a cai inches from the ground , whats deep ? Are we talking "don't drive in the rain or what ?
I don't wanna bust my BOX .

Unrelated but wondering ; Do steel brake lines make a notable difference ?

Yup. Just keep that filter dry. Does your AEM have the bypass filter on it? That's less worry too.

I will warn you of one thing... avoid automatic carwashes with undercarriage spray. I went through one and the undercarriage spray soaked the filter, when I put it in gear, the car died. I had to wait an hour for the filter to dry before the car would turn over again...

The xB doesn't have a splash guard that covers the filter, so even if it doesn't blow your engine up, it's gonna stop you if the filter gets wet enough that it can't draw air.

CAI + Houston = hydro locked motor

I'd convert to a SRI imo, not worth the risk.

You can always buy a hydroshield if youre worried. They are like 30 bucks just search on google or at local auto parts store. I dont think you have much to worry about because its not like your real close to the ground with trd springs.

I'ts koo . I wasn't boasting , just describing . w/low semi low pros im about 2and a little off the ground . My filter sits about 6" of the ground . I do not drive in water that deep , i am worried about the splash . If I get the splash guard would that defeat the whole more air thing?

Lower handles sweeeeet but man i cant go over nuttn w/o scrapen

yeah im lowered on teins and i love it..Now when you say splash guard do you mean like a gravel plate in the wheel well or the hydroshield. Gravel plates wont negate the cai or whatever and as far as i know hydroshields wont either. One of my buddies is lowered on progress springs for his xB. He sits real low and has a fujita intake. Hes never had any problems with puddles and i dont think he has a hydroshield
