Alright guys i don't know if any of you have gotten one of these citations but this is getting a tad ridiculous....You can no longer park in your driveway if you block the side walk, soooo instead lets park it out in the street where its blocking the street and put your car in harms way....lets not mention if someone is crossing the street you cant see them comeing cause of all the cars that are parked in the street till its too late. So I guess its ok to go pedestrian hunting in the City of Houston now, little johnny beware....bwwwwaaaaaahahahahaha....brings me to another point or should i say point system, so how many points do i get for little johnny or his mother? Since its easier than ever to hit em i wonder if the point scale is lowered? Hope little Johnny is good at frogger cause hes going to need those skills...lmao
Anyways i was out the door to ship some stuff to a few peeps on here and i see this crap

First off mr. meter maid thats the wrong address and second its a *****@#$%$ Scion
here is where i went wrong (parking in my drive way)

its one thing to block a walkway but you should see what it does to the neahborhood...you have to weave around all the parked cars on the street and they are not wide enough to be doing that. I guess I'm the only one that sees anything wrong with the idea.

A) they got the vehicle wrong
B) they got the address wrong.
Just dispute it and say it wasn't you or that you got someone else's ticket by accident... Worked on my truck. They put Chevrolet car and I drive a GMC Sierra 1500, that was enough to get the ticket dismissed. When they pulled over the turd sled they missed one letter on the license plate and I got that dismissed also.
O/T: I sure am glad for once not to be the subject of one of your warning/beware threads! Yay!

nope they passed that law in 2007...i found out when i researched it. they did two weeks of warnings i guess then after that grace period they give tickets...no warnings are given out, even if you are a visitor.
as far as the address goes my car isnt registered to this address not to mention there is no such thing as 15000 Elkins (it doesnt exist). also the street on the ticket is the wrong street, im at 15103 Kaler rd., Elkins is the next street over.

Dispute it for the wrong address of the citation in question...Also, did you go check that car down the street from you, it looks like they are blocking the sidewalk as well from this angle...
It does suck to get a ticket, but I understand why it is illegal.
It is much more dangerous for someone who is walking to have to step into a street. Now, for you and I no problem, but a kid on a bike, person in a wheelchair, elderly using a walker....someone could get hurt. Also, the sidewalk is not usually yours, it is the cities so they have to keep it clear for pedestrians. Someone gets hurt, they could sue you and the city.
There are a lot of crazy things you could get ticketed for but don't...this is one of them. In Phoenix, it is illegal to park on the dirt!

thing is i can see them before they step onto the street...if a car is parked into the street i dont have as much time to react cause the pedestrian is already in the street by the time i can see them. but no matter what everyone uses up their driveway and around here there are a lot of cars. most houses have 3cars around here and with a few that have four...if all those cars park in the street cause of this law (which it happens and now i know why the streets have been soooo clutered...lol) its tough to get home without doing damage to my car or other peoples cars.
I think another thing that's messed up about it is that I have plenty of room in my driveway for 4 trucks without blocking the sidewalk, but my neighbor barely has enough room for 2 cars...

Not that we have this law anyway lol.
