Default i got a question for ya'll

So i have a question for all you fellow scikotics. If you had to point ouf a couple big problems with my car, or areas i need to mod, what would they be. I guess what i'm asking is what is my car missing right now that stands out? I figure most of you okies have seen my car enough to know. I ask because i constantly feel like people look at my car and think that there's nothing to it. I'd apreciate as much feedback as possible. I'm just trying to make my box better so i can better represent the club

It's been so long since I've seen it I'm not sure.

Seriously I would have to check it out if I'm going to be critical of it.

I do think buying those new wheels will add a lot to it though.

I really only have two things to criticize...the removed fog light cover, and the half-assed cleared headlights. If you think an opening for your intake is making a difference, I'd get a port hole and put the fog light cover back on.

Like this...

It's a lot of work to properly clear the corners, but it's worth it! You just have to take off your front bumper, remove the headlights, and bake them at 250 for 5-7 minutes so you can pry off the cover, remove what's left of the amber piece, and then re-seal them with silicone. If that's too much work...you can buy my blacked out and cleared stock headlights since I think I'm going to buy those projectors I showed you, then we can switch 'em out at the install party! Blacked out headlights would look sick with those new wheels!

I haven't paid attention to your bulbs...but Jarrod (jarrod) has blue turn indicators and the super white bulbs that are blue tinted and it looks sick on a BOP xB.

Man, honestly something flashy like a new busy paint job or some vinyl will change most people's minds. It's what people can see that matters to most. I've done alot to my car and it constantly gets overlooked at shows because it's not flashy at all. Usually only other Scion owners are the only ones that notice it, and they have to look at it awhile before they start seeing all of it. I even lost at one show to a guy who only had wheels on a stock Xb!!

If you get something flashy to draw attention first, then you'll need something to keep their attention once they walkup to your car.......so, work on the interior and engine bay next. Unfortunately this gets really expensive and ongoing, you just have to say "This is all I'm doing to this part of my car, time to move on to another part", if you can't say that then you'll get stuck on one part of your car over and over and never get anywhere.

Above all, you should have an overall theme/style in your mind that you are going to try and surface, then stick with it!!

Robert's got a point.

Personally, I would pick the subtlety of Robert's xB over most of the flashier cars. I am in the minority though, most people want "loud" cars.

If you want to win car shows, you gotta stick with stuff that people that don't know anything about xBs will be like "This definately isn't stock."

thanks for the advice. vinyl really isn't my style so i probably won't be going with that. the fog light cover isn't there because when i got into an accident back home it popped out and got ran over, and i just now got someone to come asess the damage, so that will be fixed soon. the clear corners i just never got around to finishing..

Robert is dead on target. You have the 20' view and 2' view. the 20' view will turn heads as you are motoring down the highway. The 2' view will impress when inspected up close.

You should develop a theme or major game plan before you do anything. Lay it down on paper and stick to it as much as possible. My theme is TRD and the $2400 for JDM TRD Sport seats is going to have to wait, but it is on my plan.

The bottom line is do what you feel is right. It's your ride and YOU need to be happy with the plan.

Well put Tim! Hahaha, sorry about my mistake on the fog light cover! I guess it really is true what they say about assumptions... I made an a$$ out of me atleast.

depends on how much he wants for them, i'm pretty strapped for cash right now. Plus, doesn't the black paint reduce the light output? i like my lights nice and bright

The black paint is on everything but the reflective parabola. It shouldn't affect the actual beam of light whatsoever. It's on all the parts that are that weird ridged surface. It is actually designed liked that to disperse light instead of focus it, that way it isn't shining up or to the side in too direct of a beam.

Man...I'm kinda having second thoughts about the projectors! I really like the way my blacked out stock lights look. I might have some projectors up for sale if I don't like 'em...I'll hafta get back to you on that one!
