LED CHANGE IN HOUSTON AREA
good lordy seems like lonestar is getting a lotta of these....Roses is no longer in business. Stero FX said they would be willing to look at a tC to see how much trouble it would be and possible setup a discount for us.
sending it off an then waitin 4 him to send it back could take 4 ever. ive seen ones wit the led change but im still skeptical about sendin it away where it could get lost in the mail or broken on the way back...
I'm fixing to do mine this weekend, I already ordered the LEDs, hopefully it'll be in by then. I've never done this before but I soldered a lot of stuff on circuit board being an electrical engineer
Will let you know how it turns out

So far, including mine, I did 4 tC already, no problem
If anybody interested, PM me

I can help you tC guys out there if you can bring it to me. I have been soldering for years, including quite a bit of SMT soldering in a PC lab for Compaq Computer. I have swapped out LEDs in other cars, including my xB. It is not a difficult thing to do once you get the hang of slinging some solder. The trick is to just take things slowly and get it done right the first time.
According to a few older posts on this topic, there are some voltage issues with regards to using white or blue LEDs versus green, red, amber, etc.. White and blue LEDs require a little more voltage to operate than the other colors do. Supposedly, when using white or blue, the LEDs light very dimly and are difficult to see. One post on SL even mentions cutting traces and installing wire mods on the circuit board to resolve this issue. I am not sure how accurate this is because I have not done a tC yet, but it seems somewhat far fetched. I have not had issues installing LEDs in any other cars and I have been using blue LEDs for quite some time. My xB uses all blue and mine are bright enough to be seen during the day!

It's been done to death
Like I mentioned, I did 4 tC already, with that brightness fix. If you dont know how to do a tC, I would suggest you read up on it first before you get ur hand on one because it's a little more complicated than simply remove old LED, install new LED
