Default My wife's surgery.

After the OKC meeting a few you are aware that my wife was scheduled to have surgery today to repair a broken arm. It was a good news/bad news deal. The good news is they got her compression plate and screws put in fine and her broken arm should heal fine.

However, the bad news is the plate is applying slight pressure on her nerve and she has lost movement in her fingers (on her primary hand). Right now she can slightly close her fingers but she cannot open up her fingers up.

The doctor says that with some therapy and wearing some sort of device that forces her hand open, she may restore movement but there is the possibility that she may have some sort of permament loss of movement in her fingers.

Although she is in a lot of pain, I believe she will come home from the hospital tomorrow. Hopefully she regains full mobility because she has really been down since the accident.

Anyway I thought I would let those interested know how things went.

Man! Thats terrible. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your wife. Who would have thought a broken arm would have caused such major problems? I hope she makes a full recovery. I couldnt imagine being in her place. Let her know we are thinkin about her and wish her a speedy recovery.

That sure is a mixed bag of news, thanks for letting us know Bryan, and let your wife know we are thinking about her. Let's hope she has a complete and speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone for your comments. She is home right now watching basketball on TV. Her spirits aren't real high right now because of the problem with her hand but they say there's around a 85% chance that the nerves will regenerate and she will regain movement but it may take 6 months or so.
