Default Possible subforums, please vote

Hey guys, I am thinking about creating subforums for the larger metro areas... that would allow better communication between people inside the metro areas and clear up the main regional area for people from outside the metro areas to chat.

Please answer the poll so I can get a clear idea of which members are inside and outside the metro areas.

Please reply to the topic with your thoughts of which metro areas deserve subforums and whether or not you think it would be a good idea.

Thats why I am taking this poll before I do anything.

Remember, the metro forums will be subforums inside of the main region. The purpose will be to remove the topics that only pertain to that metro area from the rest of the regional topics... it should clear things up and not make things more difficult. I am going to let this poll run for a couple of weeks before I do anything so I can be sure of how most of you feel.

the whole texas area is nice because it helps us stay together.

even if we did a subforum, it should no more specific than "north texas."

^^^^^
I don't agree we all talk to LA, Ok, and all of Texas.
This move will drive more people away from this site.

experience, i'm agreeing with what you're saying. i was saying that if we MUST specify, then it should be no more specific than that.

well if you do make a dallas forum than you need to change it to DFW cause thats the way it is for use two metro areas,

and i dont see that this will be a good thing though...

cause a lot of times people in OK, Houston, san antonio, DFW, and everywhere in between, go to shows in each others areas.
and it s easy cause its all right on the one page. splitting it off would make this harder i think.
and i dont see any problems with communication of these metro areas with how it is now....

i see hwta DArren is trying to do we already have sub-threads i dont read what they post in the houston or san antonio thread but they have the most active threads on here right now...........i tried one for DFW but didnt take off very well remember the PLAYHOUSe,,,,,lol... anyways i see what you are getting at.. it would just be like another section......Announcments,Stickies,then areas, i think its growing on me.....

i think te idea has potential..... cause like i said look at the area specific threads.... san antonio.......... 2500+ posts HOuston not to far behind there always at the top of the list.... why not do it..... and we can have a DFW.....and then we alwyas have the usual BS thread starters anyway about nothing... i say we atleast try it and give it a chance.................................just my opinion.........GOOD LUCK

i retract my last post on this subject..... Darren i think we need to try it and give it a chance before we just shut the idea down.... LATER

the playhouse sorta floundered off because the DFW peeps like to post individual threads for everything that they have going on.
and it would have been hard to keep it on topic and together in one thread with as much as goes on here.

the sub forum might help that sure, but really i still see no problem with how it is here now.
but i will try almost anything once.

Lupe,
How about a Fort Worth one,
Grapevine,
Euless
Arlington,
Tyler,
Dallas
North Dallas
South Dallas
Plano ,Richardson, and about two to three dozen other cities
in the metroplex,
Don't forget the three hundred cities between Brownsville
and the Ok border.
Do we need to change because change is good, you are loosing peeps to other sites all the time.
You know this is true. Do you want to loose a lot more?
Why do it?

There are peeps that do read the Houston, San Ant, etc sites....

i said i dont have a problem with how it is now mike.

but in the end the final decision is daren's to do it or not, what am i gonna do, force him not to do it or I'll (insert threat here)?

if it happens it happens, im not gonna die because of it.

the idea for this came more from other regonal areas.
im sure not all of the other areas are as intertwined as we are here and want some way to keep the areas separated, and this would be their answer.

I'm iffy on this idea... but I agree with Pooty... I see the Houston, San Antonio etc... threads and I dont even bother... I skip half the stuff ebcause it doesnt pertain to whats going on here.... so perhaps its worth a shot....

worst case scenario.... it doesnt work.... and its changes back....

meh, i dont see how it would be better.
it would separate things more than what we require.

there isn't a confusion about whats in what area, we can see whats going on in other counties without having to double thread it in our own area and risk missing something between the 2 and modding each individual area would get crazy.
