i've been seing a lot of scions rolling around without scikotics stickers, and alot of them are modified, does anyone have ideas on how we can make people know who we are in a big way, that even if they don't want to join they still know who we are??

 

dude normally i just try to catch them when they are just getting out of their vehicles and tell them about us. but most of them arent interested at all

 

It all starts where they buy the vehicle. But the sales people...(excluding the dealerships in mn) dont usually want to make the effort.

The rudy luther scion in golden valley has all our club info, pics of past meets and events, etc etc. It all starts here, without that, how can anyone be informed?

We need to get fliers made up and spread them out among the dealerships.

 

Here is one thing I have noticed. I went to the Moose Lodge with my family and there were 2 other xb's and an xa there. I thought we were having a scion show or something :o . When I met the drivers, they were all retired and had absolutely no interest in a car club with a bunch of young "punks". I think that the scions aren't exacly hitting there target market. I think it is awesome that people are liking the cars, but I don't like the idea that we are being looked at in that fashion.

 

well my ishue is some of the people that i've talked to arn't internet savy, i'm trying to figure out a way to include these people into the club, maybe a monthly or bi monthly newsletter?? i dunno just throughing something out there.

 

At the meets we have had before I knew about Scikotics we always had people that were "retired" and such coming. They liked to come and just see what was possible, even if they had no desire to do anything to their car. One way I think that would be cool and unobtrusive would be cards that you could put on the windshield of any scions you see around. Even in this area there are always people surprised that there is a club just for Scions. I would be willing to chip in some money to get some made.

 

I have $100 coming right now to get cards made from my local dealer.

We were supposed to have someone lined up in the Washington chapter to make cards but I haven't heard form him in quite a while.
We can get a good deal from Synthetic Designs in Arlington, Tx.

Hmm....maybe we need to have a contest to design a business card?

With a contest you need a prize....any ideas?

They are not just for xB's, xA's too, but not tC's and that would be a problem.

We need something universal....I'm thinking about a Scikotics hoodie that I will buy and have embroidered.
I will even have the name of the member who wins embroidered on there with the Scikotics logo.

How does that sound?

 

or make it so that if someone with a tC wins they get a bunch of little stuff or something ELSE for the tC that would be a car mod...

If I won (no artistic talent whatsoever) but if I won and couldn't have the custom gauge thing I'd be happy with something else for the tC... or a bunch of Scikotics gear if I didn't already have it...

That's an idea too... Or make it something totally different for each model.

If Scions are going to be depicted on the cards though, I think it needs to be an "All 3 or just the logo" and not JUST depict an xA or xB or tC... That could send the wrong message that it's solely an xB club , etc

 

definatly agree with that one, maybe there should be some guidelines before the designing begins, like for instence,
that it needs to be non model specific, and maybe it has to have our website on it, just ideas
