Default Thinking about gutting the TC!! What do you think?

Well, here is the story! I have been real big on show cars pretty much my whole life. I have always built cars for show and never for speed or racing. I think my mojo has changed a bit and I'm thinking about making this TC Fast as Hell. I've done 2 Mini trucks, 3 Hondas, a 72 chevy step side, my custom pt cruiser ( www.cardomain.com/id/lastingiprez ) and my current vehicles, the monte carlo ss, 95 honda civic and of coarse the Scion TC.

Anyways, I'm thinking of gutting the rear seats on the TC, the whole system in the back and getting rid of the 19's for the track. I'm about to port and polish the head and get the new pistons from ZPI. I think I have decided to go all motor (plus nitrous of coarse) and see what the fastest track times I can get with the car still looking good. I want to add safety items like a roll bar etc. With my shot I hope to run in the low 13's.

MY QUESTION IS:
What do you guys think? Opinions? Any suggestions? Can I still make the rear of the car look good withought the system and still show the car as a race car?

Let me know your thoughts!!!!

Eddie

I think you're crazy...no. I think you're Scikotic. I'd say go for it. You can still have a pretty, fast car. You'll still have the crazy paint and all.

in my opinion, you're gonna have to either build your block, do internals, or go forced induction to hit 13's. just my opinion

Yeah, you'll have to do a LOT of work with the engine in the tC. Throw in a big turbo, upgrade the clutch, pistons, injectors, flywheel, etc. Stock 17" rims are good (they're not 19's), but put on better tires.

Keep in mind the stock 5MT Transmission is geared fairly short.

i think that a ZPI stage 1 kit would be the easier route around things. You could still keep all of your toys while running 13s.

I'm sure we could change our install party to an install and uninstall party and take all sorts of stuff out of your car!
