TRD Supercharger?
alright so im planning on buying an 09 or possibly even waiting until the 2010's come out. Is the turbo worth it? And if so how much did you pay for it at the dealership, mines asking 4500 w/ install.
Hey, I only paid like 2500 total to get mine and I like it a lot.
But the thing is I have an 06, so for me it was a whole lot cheaper then 07+ tCs.
If I had to spend 3200 on the kit I wouldn't have it now prolly. And its only worth it if your interested in keeping everything else engine wise AS IS and having the 60k mile warrenty to fall on if something were to happen.
Its not for those looking for a huge jump in power, the supercharger isn't gonna give that to you.
If you don't care about warrenty and just want power, go turbo, its a lot easier and cheaper to put down the numbers.
Supercharger is a good little bump in hp and smooth delivery of the boost, and you get everything in box.
But dissappointing for those looking for something to bolt in and beat everything they stoplight with.
I wouldn't wait for 2010, if scion has any sense they shouldnt have this model tC around for year 6!

well im not just looking to get the supercharger for the power thinking thats all i need. But Im wondering if I should put the money towards it seeing as i cant add it to the loan and also if Im getting it from the dealership and they install it, it shouldnt mess the warranty up should it?
your right, it cant be added to the car purchase unless you outright pay for it there independent of your vehicle loan.
you can buy the kit new where ever you like. as long as the warrenty card is clear and in the box and you have it installed at the dealership it will be covered under the rest of your 60k powertrain warranty if something goes wrong.
BUT you cannot change anything in the engine from the intake inlet to the bottom of the header from stock or else you lose that warranty.
i bought my kit new online from a dealership in houston that had the 05-06 kit on clearance cause the new tCs and kit were out and had it installed at toyota of irving here in dallas for about 500 that included an oil change and coolant flush.
