We want you! well PNW region anyway!
Hey Scikotics guys and gals.
I just wanted to bounce an idea the PNW chapters of SE came up with and see how it floats with ya'll. Since the HMFIC of the PNW no longer posts on this board I wanted to post it here in hope someone would see it.
SE and Scikotics are pretty much the only thing going for Scion clubs in the NW and as an old muscle car coot myself thought we could bring one of my favorite parts of my muscle car scene to SE and Scikotics.
We would like to look at holding a joint event in the summer sometime that is a friendly 'field day' of sorts where there would be a big show and shine but SE members and Scikotics members would face off in random fun 'challenges' like making a 40 putt on astro turf or who can wax a car the fastest. that kinda of stuff. nothing serious and nothing that really requires much thought or skill.
We really want to extend the community out here and think it would be a great way to promote both clubs and the community at the same time! I've been to some shows like this that have a big 'competition' one day, party all night and camp out and then teh next day do the show and shine and hand out trophies and prizes etc...
Anyway, just thought I would see if anyone likes the idea or if its something we should even look into pursuing.
Look forward to working with ya!

Well we have our nation wide meet on June 17th for any scions. If the date of this show up there wasnt going to be on that weekend then i dont see any problems but you should try to contact the scikotics up in your area. Im not to sure how much they look at this part. Just try to have it on a different weekend so if they do decide to make the trip here to Oklahoma they will be able to do so with out missing a show up there. Any further questions you have you would be better off talking to Jon, Frankenscion.
And if you check out the thread in PNW "Here goes nothing..." Well... looks like a posted a few hours late...
Dustin, feel free to IM me with plans you have!

I didn't mention above...
I like the idea... Perhaps need to tweek it a bit, but yeah. As of right now I'm hoping to be able to do that OK meet in June, so I'd say let's make it July sometime... Mid/Late May is going to be the Great Strides charity event in downtown Seattle for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation... Gonna have my plate really full with that one...
So if it works at the SE end, let's shoot for July sometime and figure a time to discuss more ideas, OR you can IM me... again, it's inthewaside on Yahoo's IM

sadly, I think you are right frankscion, I'm not exactly sure some of the members would be able to handle this...... well, I'll shelve it for now but keep it on the back burner.
It really is a shame we cant figure out something to do together. I see so much more good coming out of a joint event or something shame to not try something.

I agree. Don't shoot down the whole idea just because one aspect got shot down...
I was even thinking that if we did a "competition" we could do something really low key anyway like mini golf or bowling or something like that...
The idea had been batted around, I think by Dustin at one point) about paintball...
Not bloody likely
I'm down for bowling or putt putt though
Any good places anyone knows of in "middle ground?"
It's not middle ground, but the bowling alley in Lynnwood right off the 164th exit is VERY newly remodeled and really damn nice...
Golf wise... no idea...
If they hadn't gotten rid of places like Q-Zar that would be PERFECT!
