Default WTF? No REAL Performance Exhaust Shops in TEXAS?!?

I need a custom mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust. So far I've been unable to locate a shop that can do this. If anyone has this type of exhaust: please let me know who did the pipes even if there not in Texas.

Close to College Station. Too far to really hang out in Austin, Houston, or Dallas. But about the same distance to each when I need work done.

That sucks about the accord. Very fine car.

Hmm are you FI of any kind.. if not a mandrel bent or crush bent would not make any difference.. and I dont think that Trevor is completely mandrel, he is part mandrel part crushed. I rememeber talking about it at the Dyno day.

Right now its all natural. The 2.5 mandrel could actually lose power versus the stock system. Magnaflow claims crush bending loses like 20%. On 2.5" that reduction would reduce flow to 2". Which is smaller than stock. Also, right now I'm planning to go turbo and anticipate ordering a system with the next 2 months.

if you are going turbo it would be better just to get a 3 inch turbo back. as far as the crush bent, i kinda understand you howver it has been tested, losing power on a crush vs mandrel on a nearly stock car wont be any different, now on a all motor build with some crazy comp ratio then i can understand..

Appreciate the info. I guess i'll maintain the stock pipe from resonator to muffler for now and upgrade later.

Changed me mind-Do it right the 1st time!

just remember the key to a good flowing exhaust is to maintain as less bends as possible and keep it straight as possible. RS*R is good for keeping straight exhaust..

C'MON people. This is embarrassing if its true. This is TEXAS. Not some backwater hillbilly state.

There has got to be at least one "REAL" peformance exhaust shop in TX. We've got Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Austin, Waco, Temple, Kileen, Beaumont(i've been everywhere man...), etc. WTF?

Crush bending = reduced flow
Mandrel bending = full flow
Performance exhaust shop that does crush = B.S.

My exaust was completely mandrel bent.. 3" Header Back, until I came to TX and traded in on the White S/C tC. Just the slight differences in the car made me hit the Axel on the S-Pipe so I have a crushed 3" S-Pipe and the rest is Mandrel. So my S-Pipe is about 2.75" but it fits Beautifully.

More than a "bit pricey"! Said mandrel SS would be about $700-$1000 . My local shop was $125 for aluminized crush. Back to plan A: cheap now-upgrade later.

Well if you are looking to get a full 2 inch, have them do the bends on a 3.25 to 3.50 and the rest on a 3. the 3.25 around the bends would probably tone it down to 3.

ohhhhhhhhh wait, i got a better idea. go to jcwhitney.com and check out the piping that they have there, they sell 3.0 mandrel bends(90deg, U pipes, etc). See how many bends you need. buy them.. then have a exhaust shop weld them and have them use the straight piping that they carry.
