Default xD in Texas

Is the new xD really the cat's meow? I like my xA but soon it's going to be gone...Should I upgrade to a xD? It look nice, but I like the one with the kit better. How much is the xD going to be. My xA was $14,900 back in 05. What the gas mileage on the xD, I know it's got a bigger 1.8L engine. I just hate getting a car and 2 years later it's going out the door. =( I know I'm just _____ing but is the xD going to be really better in the long run than the xA?

The xD should get the same or better mileage. It's the same workhorse that is in the Corolla and that is rated at 41MPG with a 5=Speed. I'm not sure on the pricing for the xD, I imagine that there will be a small jump, but less than $1000.

I think in the long run, the xA and xD will be close, the only major difference being power allocation. Though, if the new xB is anything to go buy, the materials feel a lot more solid.

I'm thinking the xD will be less gas mileage than the xA since it should have the motor out of the Matrix XR.

05.10.2007 From Automotive News
Come August, the xD is set to make a powerful and stylish entry in the US market. This preview of the xD highlights the powerful all new 1.8-liter engine as well as the wider axle and sporty suspension. But it is the styling that steals the show. The xD is a product of collaboration between the European and Japanese design studios. Memorable xD features includes 6 inches of slide and 10 degrees recline of the rear seats; the integration of the speedometer and tachometer into one concentric gauge and the active head restraint system on the front seats to help lessen whiplash in a rear collision.
