Default Shoutout to all DFW area Scion folks

Hi guys,

First post for a total Scion noob. Just bought my tC. Cost me 28k out the door. Loving every moment of it. Will post some pics of it later on. Looking to get a Fidanza flywheel upgrade, possibly TRD or Stoptech brake rotor, caliper upgrade, TRD rear sway bar, etc so it is still a work in progress.

I found this website because a representative at Scion of Irving recommended this site to me and so far there is a wealth of information to be found on this site. Like for example the famous hwy there is not 6th gear question...etc etc. I am tending to be on the team that says this car needs a 6th gear for long distance cruising. But anyway I dont want to start any flame wars.

Well I have a habit for rambling so I am going to shut up now. Just wanted to drop in a line or two and introduce myself.

Take care all.

Welcome to SL. Enjoy your time here. My friendly advise to you is to try not to stir up anything here. We already have our hands full. Have fun and let us know if you have any questions.

Post some pics of the tC.

Well besides the standard trd parts I got 18 inch Riax alloy wheels on the car and I still gotta get the rear sway bar, the dimming rear view mirror etc to be done. I also got the DVD nav etc installed and it is a sweet piece of kit! And also I got a lot of car protection services and so on just to be safe so it bumped up the price a bit.

Anyway thanks for the warm welcome. I am looking for some shops in the DFW area where I can get some work like brakes, flywheel, catback exhaust etc done on the car. I guess its off to the search button for me!

Cheers!

Jk, welcome to SL!
Welcome but as many are saying 28K sounds a little steep maybe you could get rid of some of those service protections. I hope they gave you a good deal on the APR if you financed it.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. Yeah 28k is the final price and yeah I know it is a bit steep being my first car and all. But I plan to keep it around for a while sort of as a project car. I am not going to "rice" it out. I just want passersby to look at it and say or think that is a nice looking car...and not be repulsed by it because it is "riced" out. My car dealer wants to put that car on one of their advert flyers so that is not a bad start I guess.

I don't think we're saying 28K is steep is for a first car, I think we're saying it's steep for a tC. I've never seen one sell for that much.

just because a bank wont loan someone that much for a car....he could of had a hefty(sp) amount down.....i paid 19,800 for my 2007 tc for nothing on it no warranties or anything....nothing special.....but i put 10k down.....well anyways welcome to the site.....and you will love your car....if you are wanting to get anything powder coated...DO NOT go to paul's powder coating off of HWY 30. i know them pretty well and the guy that owns it is very cool but the guy that does the majority of the work is not very good.
