Default Anyone from de help a nor eastern fellow out?

So im taking a road trip from Nyc down to virginia beach next week and with google maps they tell me to skip the washington area and go on US-13.

If anyone is familiar with that road. whats the ideal speed limit to go since i'll be doing 100 or so miles on it.

Thanks for the help!

Any other tips would be grateful!

Hey andy,

Whatever you do don't speed when you get in VA......they are crazy about speeders and such. They have nothing better to do exept play road cop.

They got it right though, the washington area is a mess and if at all possible just avoid it.

Seriously though....no speeding in VA.

Rte. 95 throuh the DC area can be the fastest, but only during non-rush hour. On weekday mornings between 6 and 10, and weekday afternoons between 2 and 7--that's the bad traffic times. Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons can be bad, especially on holiday weekends.

Driving along the coast is a nicer drive, but takes longer. The local cops in the small towns love to catch speeding tourists.

^ What those guys said....

Though as you're passing from Northern Baltimore to Southern Baltimore it's all 55. Blech. Just watch for the Mustangs on that section of 95. Cops have some crazy (good looking) undercover cars in some areas.

also once in virginia when you're coming through the woodbridge to fredericksburg area watch for a black srt8 charger with windows that are super tinted. he's a cop. probably the most awesome cop car ive ever seen. But ive seen him in those areas quite a bit.

Cops in maryland don't really look at you at all though. Especially when there is other traffic on the road. I generally cruise above the speed limit in maryland, but don't even dare to anymore in VA.

Im from frederick Md and im stationed in VA beach, cops in maryland are nothing like in va beach, cops here will follow you around untill you mess up are pull you over for no reason. Md police are much laid back. From 95 take 17 straight to va beach, less traffic, same speed .
