CCBC xA Winner
" CCBC Announces Winner of 2006 Scion
Baltimore County, Md-Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville (CCBC Catonsville) Student Life Director Peter Law is the proud recipient of a new Scion xA, Thanks to a $10.00 ticket he bought earlier in the year in support of CCBC student scholarships. That lucky ticket got him one of he most unique cars on the market and definitely one of the most gas efficient averaging more than 30 miles per gallon.
The Scion raffle was a fundraising event sponsered by the CCBC Foundation in partnership with Baltimore Area Toyota and Scion dealers. This five year partnership has raised nearly $300,000 over the years giving students greater access to an education via scholarships.
Law, who's been an employee of the college for more than 20 years, said he has purchased many raffle tickets over the years in support of the college foundation but never actually thought he would win the grand prize. " I always participate in the raffle because I know that the money goes toward student scholarshipd," said Law. "Winning the car was a huge suprise. I got to help students and I got a new car in the process. What a Bonus!"
Law picked up his new Scion xA from Russel Toyota located at 6700 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville, Md. This is the fourth car he has actually gotten from the Russel Toyota dalership; however, this was the first that came to him free of charge.
"I've always been a big fan of Toyota," said Law. "They make really great cars. My family is really excited about getting the Scion. I've already commited to giving it to my daughter whos in high school. It's the perfect car for her - compact and fuel efficient."
For the past few years, the CCBC Foundation has raffled a car as a fundraiser with the support of the Baltimore Area Toyota and Scion dealers. Proceeds from these raffles go toward scholarshipd for CCBC students. To Support student scholarships or other college initiatives contact the CCBC Foundation at 410-285-9935. "
