I just got a call that my xB has been found and is driveable. :D

I will update this and post pictures after I get to my car.

At the moment I am on hold with my insurance company that wanted to be notified first thing when I got any news of my car being found.

I get to the impound lot, which was about 5 miles away from where it was stolen,
and pay the $125 towing fee.
I had just filled it with gas on 8-10 before being stolen,
and it was dead empty on the impound lot.
They had to give me a jump because the battery was dead also.

The exterior looks untouched other than the black residue
from it being dusted for fingerprints.

The interior looks like it went thru hurricane katrina.
All of my paperwork for my warranty/service/finance contract and copy of my title
were in the glovebox and all of that was dumped into the back seat.
The driver's seat has LOTS of residue from them trying to get prints.
2 of my doorlock Boo Boos are missing yet they left
2 of my still in sealed package matchbox xBs go figure...

My three 1:6 scale R/C xB's were stolen also along with
most of the Tee shirts that I was amassing from the shows
yet they left my green ice chest with my bottled water
and 2 green cans of jolt cola and almost half full of water from ice that had melted...

The lowlife scumbags ripped the wires off of my 2 bazooka bass tubes
and just left the speakers in the cargo area
<< I think they were on the way to drop off the speakers and ran out of gas >>

My radio is now cracking/popping/hissing and then it just goes silent
and the radio screen goes blank but is still lit up.
I think that the harness to the subwoofer is shorted
and tomorrow I will disconnect the harness and see if the radio works any better.

hey mark thats good news... i guess?? i hope this turned out better then you thought!!!! i mean they didnt mess with the outside !!!! all they did was take stuff that can be replaced!!! the box cant!!!


also make sure you try to watch your car at night or park in a garage or something and watch your credit cards and make sure you lock your house!!!

they now have your info from all your papers in your car!!! just be carefull and try to watch the little things for a litlle while!!!

 

goo to see you got your car back homie. I find it funny they didnt steal anything from it. Sounds like they just messed it up a little bit. How far from your home did they get with it?

 

They took it from his work. Kids around here steal cars. I dont mean 18 year olds, I mean 12-14 year old kids rip off cars here everyday, all day. You also have groups of illegal immigrants who like to rip off cars joyride them or strip them because they have no money or fear of US laws. The kid gets grounded or a weekend in juvenile detention and the other gets dropped back into his country which he will find a way to leave again.

Usually when you find a car that is in the shape that Marks car was in, it was probably taken by one of these two groups. Id bet the kids took it.

Out of curiousity, how did they manage to steal it? Break the ignition? Hot wire it? Our cars (xa and xb) do not have Immobilizer chips. tC does.

To drive a stolen car you have to break the ignition or else the steering wheel lock could be a pain when you want to make a turn

Ive repaired several xBs ignition switches. They break pretty easily with the right tools...
