Obviously its a little late now to pre-register, but there should be a table set up for registering if you want to show your car.
If you want to do that, get there early...like around 11:30 - 12 so as not to cause the show to start and end late.

Drax, you might work in the Olney Mama Lucia now but a few years back that place was bad. Had some of the crappiest service ive ever had. The only Mama's ive been to and had ok food was the one in falls grove. I know that it might of changed now cause its been a few years but id just rather not go.
i've been there since 2002, and yeah, service was isn't always perfect, but that can be dependant on the server you get (we have this one guy who is like 40, and always bitter), or it can be dependant on how busy we are, and another huge factor is just customer attitude. rude people tend to get less service because well, you put a server in a bad mood, they tend to be less friendly and attending to your needs. also, restaurants have huge turnover rates on servers, somebody is always new, training, or about to get fired because they suck @$$. so if you got crappy service, you should have said something to the manager, we are usually very good at guest recovery, and coming back for a second chance.
so if you got bad service, i'm sorry, and chances are that server is long gone, and i think today we have a pretty good wait staff.
and trust me on this, regular customers always complain about the food at other locations compared to ours. i don't know what it is, but they always say something long the lines of "i went to the mamma's in fallsgrove, and their (insert entree) wasn't as good as yours"

If you can wait a bit, a few of the super old SL members and a few of the new and possibly CAT might be trying to revive this. . .

You had to have been there to really know what went on. Sap was there but he was late. Long story short. give us a little time. If we don't got nothing for you by the end of July then I say we do the potluck picnic!

yes and no
Yes, Zach did a wonderful job with picking up where we left off.
No, the original picnic was actually started by the 10 members of this area. It used to be potluck and the owners paid for the shelter that was used.
the '06 BBQ was the first time CAT was involved and they were more then wonderful. They took care of everything. Which is what detracted to the actual BBQ as well as made it a stellar event. In '04 and '05 the BBQ wasn't comprised of just showing up or just one picnic. They had 2 picnics a year. One in the beginning of the summer and one at the end. And it was up to the owners to make the it or break it.
Also the way would try to do this would be more like the old friday meets. Sort of like what we have been doing for the last little while with this thread. Except the shelter is about $400 to rent out. While we haven't hammered out the details we are trying to get CAT to cover the cost of shelter and have the owners bring everything else from music to food and festivities.
I know everyone is sick of me telling them how it used to be, but there are those of us like myself who would at least like the chance to have the "magic" feeling back. While it might not happen I personally would rather try. Anyway, when I meet up with you guys on friday night it's almost the same feeling. Just with new people.

sounds good.
last year we met up in the park behind my bethesda home; everyone brought something to eat/drink and we had a nice littler picnic. Also there is a tennis court and basketball court for those who wanna do something else too.
(p.s. I call dibs on the swing
