i just passed emissions in md at eh veip. it is a total cake walk, i don't have headers, but the test is a joke.

so long as you don't have a cel, they will pretty much pass you. they really don't care. i went to the veip in airpark on 124 in moco.

so buy whatever headers make your fancy, use some sort of anti-fouler to clear the cel, and make sure your exhaust doesn't have a terrible tell tail smoke sign. oh, and a gas cap, they check and make sure your car has a gas cap, cause you know...for safety or something.

They do not check under the hood of your car for emissions unless they are given reason to. Having a modified exhaust tone coming out of the rear is still usually not enough reason unless you are spitting smoke.

As long as you keep the cat and the CEL isnt on, youll be fine for VEIP.

yeah, i'm in montgomery county. unless you have tell tale smoke and/or a check engine light, they don't bother to really inspect your car.

also, they do it every two years, i got my tc in 11/04, got notice to go for emissions like a month or two ago, and had until june or july to get it done if that gives you an idea of what kind of time table your looking at for emissions.

i know, i know, but it just feels weird to say or type "i don't have header." i guess i'll have to say i don't have a header. but still, for brevities sake, i say headers, anybody who wants to feel show of their knowledge and correct me can go ahead. it is like those people who get mad over me saying nos instead of nitrous. just easier and shorter to use.

i need to get mine done by 7/25.

i have a slight leak were the header meets the spipe, or where the spipe meets the mid-pipe. but they should only hook up the OBDII sensor correct? no tredmill or reving of the engine?
