Well it would be risky but it could be done. Ripp mods from what I herd is a good place also and i dont know where you are located but it is in NY so it could be about 45 mins ckoser then p-tuning
well if you can install it yourself that would be better. If you are pretty smart with cars and have the tools that would be better for you to install it. If you take it to a pro shop your gonna pay $75-$100 an hour for the install
ptuning knows the tC inside and out. they could probably take the motor apart with their eyes closed and their hands tied behind their back.

Just curious, is there a way to keep the wastegate open to keep the car uot of boost prior to a tune? Or just keep the RPM's low? I have a s/c now but may be going turbo and will need a major tune for it.

Low throttle, low rpms. Depending on turbo size, you should never even get into boost under 3,000RPM. During cruise, you won't be in boost because you'll only be at approx 25-30% throttle. Basically, just don't push it and you'll be fine.
