Default montgomery county police hit a new low...

this is a story that is the very definition of the word, opportunism my friends.

it is 930 in the morning, and my boss calls me, he has an emergency, and he needs me to head in to work early to get his keys and open the restaurant and let everybody in, and he'll be there shortly after things get settled. no problem, just needed a quick shower and i would be on my way. now i live in laytonsville, he lives in brookeville, and the restaurant is in olney, so i take 650 to 97 to get to his house and continue on to olney.

well, i turn onto 97 and see a temporary construction sign that says "one lane road ahead". no big deal, i got time, i figure that they are doing road work, and stopping traffic in one direction at a time to let the other side through. well, i sit and wait and wait and gradually move up as the people ahead of me get tired of waiting, they just turn around and take a detour.

so i wait and finially make it up near the front of the line, i'm way late, and i was hoping to get through when i see there is no road construction, but instead, there is a HUGE accident with people injured and the montgomery county police have blocked the road. most unfortunate, but it cannot be helped, i am late, but nothing to get worried about, so i turn around and plan on taking 650 to brighten dam road to get aroud the accident on 97 and get to olney that way.

so i turn around and i am following a pick-up truck towing a trailer, we make a right onto 650 and start heading down the road, when suddenly the pick-up truck slams on their brakes, and i thought, "great, another accident" but the truck was just seriously slowing down as just down the road was...a montgomery county cop with a laser gun, and he had pulled over one of the cars that had turned around before i had turned around.

so here we have a huge accident, road closed, people stuck waiting to find out they have to turn around and take a detour, and a cop there to write them a ticket incase they tried to hurry.

for the record, no i did not get pulled over or a ticket or anything, but i just thought this was low. i know speeding and wreckless driving is dangerous and kills and could have been what caused that accident in the first place, but seriously, people just wanna get to work, and because the police can't do something like tell people they are closing the road before they get all the way down the line of cars to the scene of the accident, so they lose time, are late and want to rush to make it up on some back country roads is just crazy.

so heres to you montgomery county police! way to kick'em while their down!

oh, just hiding in blind spots with radar/lidar guns like usual, billboards, and such.

i mean, police have a very important role in society and respect and appreciate it, but seriously, it just seems wrong to try to ticket people because they are late because of bad traffic.

I dunno man... sucks, but at the same time, sometimes it's better to just be late... shiza happens... if a supervisor or someone cannot accept that, then I'd tell them to fornicate themselves...

On memorial day they had cops positioned on bikes every mile along i95 between the i64 e and w ramps. Needless to say the traffic was going 45mph, or the few cars on the road.
