I'm sure that if you hadn't placed you would have said the same thing I did. I explained in the VIP thread why I was utterly un impressed. The judging was MEH they gave out throphies to who had the most $hit on their cars and that certainly didn't mean they were the best looking cars, to the contrary.....some were so busy with crap that they looked like such.

I thought the sense of the scion community would have been greater, more smiling/friendly faces. That's why I brought my older sis, to get a vibe of why I love Scions. Yeah that did not turn out as planned. Not worth the drive, imo. Maybe saturday was fun, sunday was uhm yeah.
if i wouldnt of placed i still would of enjoyed the event, but i wouldnt of agreed with the judging. i walked the lot (as i always do) to size up my competition, and i knew there were two tC that should of beat me (not including munch cause i knew he was gonna get best of show), and thats exactly how it happened. the two tc's got first and second wild, and i for third wild (so i placed 3rd over all), and im happy with that. the guy who judged the cars did a great job, and i believe everyone that placed deserved to place. in a car show, alot of it does have to do with the quantity and quality of what you have done. i personally have alot of ish done to my car (IMO), but i need to fix two things with my car that bug the hell out of me. the majority of whats done to my car is quality work and products (not pepboys crap). and i can say the same for the cars that beat me. in your case, your car looks nice, but for shows like that, you need more then a lip kit and wheels to place. as for the scion community... you need to know the right people IMO. there are good people to hang with, and others that arnt. i personally have my group that i like to hang with, and i am willing to expand that. but i know a few people who id rather stay away from.

Judges seemed a bit rude too, but i think mainly everyone was tired from the previous nite, ah well no worries another show just to mix it up with the normal stuff.

its the same guy that judges at e-town all the time. that one white guy, i forget his name. he judges the cars fast, and doesnt like to be talked to while judging, and i can respect that. he has alot of cars to judge, and remember different things about them. he was nice to me, but i cant defend him if he was rude to you sap =\

that's what I'm saying, quality should matter not quantity. I could easily spend 30k cash on my tC and get all the prizes then. But what's the point of that? I'm making my car into what I like not what judges like. And I don't only have a lip kit and wheels, I spent over 4 k up to now on the car; lip n wheels/tires took only 2k. I'm sure that if there was a category for cleanest tCs I would have easily placed (that is if the judge has some taste - which is rare in this sort of business). I saw yr car and you while u were talking to the guy with the video camera I didn't want to interrupt, but I would have expected some of you guys to come over and at least say hello. That honestly threw me off cos I was pointing at people to my sis saying their name to her and at the end of the day she asked "so all these ppl you told me about...don't they say hi to you?"

claudia i didnt even see you. and thats the gods honest truth. i saw sap for a few minutes, but i didnt see you. and i appreciate that you didnt interrupt when i was with urban racer on cam. so sorry for not saying hi, but like i said, i didnt see ya there =\

you should build your car how you want it, thats what its all about. i do the same, i build my car how i want it. but in the show world, BOTH quality AND quantity matter. If you want to or expect to win at shows, be prepared to spend alot more then 4k on your car (atleast for larger shows). ive got way too much money wrapped up in my car... so much taht it makes me sick. and i plan to spend a good chunk more in the next coming weeks

all good next time I'll dress in neon green

I guess I should stick to smaller shows for now then. Not that I necessarily want a prize, I just wished more people paid attention to my car. I've done most of the modding myself so it's my sweat in there too not only a shops'.

I ordered my TRD springs and struts from TRDsparks yesterday and I know I will need an alignment once they are installed but should I take this to my dealer for install or should I see if someone less price-rapey could do it and then just get an alignment from a place?

As an aside, I had Eibach Pro springs and Bilstein shocks installed on my Firebird years ago at the local Mineki(sp?) and an alignment done there. I forget the exactly cost, I think somewhere between 300 and 500.

i keep hearing about a local silver turbo tc.
he's supposidly quite quick in the 1/4
he'll come up in a conversation like "oh tcs are slow, except actually there's this one really fast guy i saw in a silver turbo tc"
anyone know him and what he's done to his car? or if you're on here, feel free to own up and say hello
