Default Powder coating Specifics

I looked at the local shop thread and found this:

East Coast Powder Coat
97 N. Leslie Road - Bldg. G
North East, MD 21901
410-287-6200
POC: Dave or Scott
http://www.eastcoastpowdercoat.com
Powder Coating, Ceramic Coating, Diamond Tipped Cutting

Does anyone have any info on these ppl?
Are there other places that you can personally refer me to (first hand experience)

I need to get my rim inserts powder coated in FM

Any feed back welcomed

I know that FM paint is easy to find...does the same go for powder coating "powder"?

I mean can shops find powder in FM? I hope I'm making sense...

Paint and powder coat are totally different things. Some shops only offer some colors. It would be best to talk with them in person.
The color codes don't cross over.

My strut bar only cost $45 to have powder coated. In a engine bay where a wrench could hit it I would rather have it PC.

i am the one who gave that info. they are north on 95. around the perryville toll ($5 toll)

I got my header ceramic coated with a polished finish from them adn it turned out great. the header is sitting in my living room cause i dont have a car to install it... plus ive ben lazy and havent installed alot of the parts that are sitting in my house.

powder coating wise they do a very good job. and i think it will be hard for you to find another good powder coating shop in the area.

and as they said. paint doesnt = powder coating.

you wont be able to perfectly match FM with powder coating, but im sure they could ifnd a dark grey to get it to somewhat match.

as dave said... paint would be cheaper, and it would match.

the problem with both of theses are.... you are going to be driving the car daily, and rocks will mess up the paint or the powder caot job (it will mess the paint up easiser then the powder coating)

I have an offer of $120 plus shipping (the guy is in florida i think) to get all 20 piece powder coated.

Just wanted to ask a local shop how much they'd charge me for them.

Yes that's why I'd rather powder coat them rather than paint them. A lil more resistant.

I first have to figure out if the pieces are plastic (highly doubt it) or metal.

And I'd also like to learn more about the process diff. between painting and powder coating.

Basically what I'm asking here is:

- will the original paint that is on now remaine there?
- so if the paint/powder coat (whichever I decide to go with) chips flakes will I be able to remove that layer of bad paint/coating and find the original paint under it intact?

What are those other 16 parts you want powdercoated?
