Ptuning Autocross!!! Oct. 24th
the tc as modified as it is, would probably be outclassed in SMclass right?
i just picked up a 2007 bmw 335i sedan. 100% stock, so it should be very competitive in its stock class. only problem is it has run flat summer tires and they're nearly done as it is. they barely had enough tread to pass inspection when i bought it.

The way it works with NASA, is your car stock falls under a pre-determined BASE class. Depending what mods you do, your car accumilates points. You get to enough points, and you bump up a class.
NASA classes are A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, U, and S. For example, my car started off as an H car stock but with my mods it is a C class car. A stock tC is an F class car.
Will you would sign up as NOVICE class, unless you have done 5 autocrosses.
Christian, I wouldnt worry too much about what class to sign up as for just this one event, nobody knows who is in what class anyhow until results are posted. Furthermore the classes are used really to run for the championship points. But if you want to see what class you would fall under here is the link http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/nasa-x_classes.pdf . With any aftermarket turbo system a dyno graph would have to be submitted anyhow to determine your class, along with a car weight. It goes by power-to-weight ratio.
If I were to guess Id say your tC would be a C-class car with street tires.
But like I said, don't worry about it it's just for scoring.
Sorry I didn't sign up Justin. Money is pretty tight these days... with the wedding coming up and all. Hope you guys have fun. I'm 99% sure I'll be there though, just tagging along. See ya!
We didn't know anyone was interested in doing the bigger track like VIR. If so, next time when we run at VIR, we will definitely announce it. Hopefully, some Scion owners can make it out to join us.
Good to hear.
