i was waiting for one of the tC drivers to jump in with this info for everyone, but about half of the tC's, the xA and xB beat 3 of the 4 porsches at the event (including a 996 gen 911 turbo). In fact overall i believe only a civic si (ep3 gen) with subtantial suspension work, a catherham super 7 and a sentra running r compounds, beat out the scions.

lol ok drax i DID meet u then. just didnt know it was u. rofl we should all wear name-tags.

Thanx Justin (blown_xA) lol

Dave i was wondering if we beat those porsches i forgot to sheck that out. that 911 Turbo was DEFINATELY overdriving the course. there wasnt a area to put down power and u could tell it was frustrating him. lol. guess it paid off to have our little displacement motors out buzzing around the course

FTR, Scion Noics and NASA are putting together an event much like this one and hopefully we'll get it running soon. we've been working on it for almost a year lol. it'd be great if u all came down. the useable area is REALLY REALLY big and so u guys know. if any of u have any desire to run with us or wanna get sum more practice under ur belt, Nasa has alot of good and helpful people and lovely courses. come on down to VA and have fun with us!!!!

question: i've heard some scca rules don't even allow xB's to run because of the fear of rolling over. what's your guys' opinion on the safety of an xB running in an autocross event like you guys did? obviously it went ok at least for the ones who showed up .... any precautions/mods to make sure tipping over doesn't happen?

if u want to prevent ur box from tipping....dont lift it. rofl. seriously. a friend of mine Char (Ccrrazy) has a box and autoX's with me alot. i've literally watched her box drift around corners, 4 wheel slide, ride 3-wheel braking into turns and smoke tires coming out of turns. if SHE hasnt flipped driving her box at 110% then there isnt a real way to flip a box on a flat surface. the box is on a echo platform i bleve. its not exactly top heavy enuf for rollover to become a serious and dangerous issue.

one thing i've come to learn about SCCA is that they are scaredy-cats of sorts. they heir on the side of safety to a point where i think its being overprotective. i DO bleve there is a possibility a box could flip if it were on a road course and got onto the candycanes while cresting a hill but seriously having all the other cars pass u on every straight would be enuf to make u want to trade in the box if road racing became ur new goal. on a flat surface with street tires and a stock or super stiff suspension....im sure it will slide WELL before it rolls. i've also watched a Honda Odyssey autoX so that reassured me that boxes are A-ok.

cliff notes: rolling isnt ur issue in a box in autoX. Road coursing could pose and issue but i think the power deficit would prove itself a bigger issue than roll-over there.

that last pic does make me wish they made motormount inserts for the xb though, the front end lift is noticeable
