Well, let's see... my weekend consisted of a lot of sleep and a lot of play, but I obviously missed a lot of the fun stuff.
My girlfriend got bombed VERY early on Friday night. I'm not sure who was more drunk... her or Viet. Viet was roaming around like a little terror. He's a violent drunk. He appearently saw my GF talking to Tavis and thought they needed to be closer. I pushed them together which put Tavis's face in her chest. Shortly after that, she reached the point of illness and nearly passed out. Since I was also a bit drunk, I was out of the poker tournament after 3 friggin' hands so she begged me to take her back to the room.
So much for night number 1.
On Saturday, I decided to go skiing. I haven't skiied since I was in college and that was in 1989. Screw it, said I and strapped the skis on. I had a friggin blast. As soon as that was done, I made the 4:45 snowmobile trip. I then had a couple of beers with Alex while they finished up the fireworks. I was completely exhausted but it was worth it.
Well, the GF spent the entire day in bed, recovering from the night before. Then, the migraine set in and she went to the first aid station for treatment. She was done. I met her in the room at about 9:00 and told her I was going to take a nap before heading out to the club. Bad move. My head hit the pillow and I was out for the duration.
So, what lessons did I learn? First, the GF is a real bummer on trips like this. Next is that I'm not 20 years old anymore. I can't loads of physical exertion and drinking like I could in my younger days. Finally, I learned I can still ski and they didn't even have to take me off the mountain on a stretcher (like they did in 1989 when I last skiied).
I did have fun though. It was good to meet a lot of new people. I hope to see a lot of you in Chicago next week. My GSM nearly cancelled that trip for me and I'll have to leave early on Saturday, but I'll be here.

Keep in mind I live with her and even though Im not home very much she still sees me at least 3 or 4 times a week...
