Default Summit Point Oct. 11-12

This is the full-fledged NASA weekend at Summit Point Main Circuit. Looks like I am going to be there in HPDE form, and didn't know if anyone else on here signed up.

There is a wait-list for HPDE 1, 2, and 3 at this point. I know there is still room available in the racing classes, Time Trials (Justin!!!), and Hyperdrives (I did one of these last month, and had a great time.) And the TT are not very crowded for the NASA events, so you get TONS of open track for the timed runs usually.

I know I missed the Scion VIP event in NJ this past weekend, so this is how I’m making up for it. :D

Come do an HPDE then. Suprise the hell out of your instructor.

Seriously though, if you e-mail Chris Cobetto with a level head, and some proof or all your track time they might let you in TT because of all your past track experience.

You going to VIR the weekend before that? I might head down, but it's quite a trip. I'll have to take off work Friday and Monday.

I'm not sure if I am even going to go to VIR to be honest with you. There is a couple other stuff I have to choose from that weekend, esp. if I'm already going to be driving the full next weekend. I might be able to work out a VT visit that weekend, and stop by VIR on the way home Sunday to check you guys out on the track. Are you running timed laps Sat/Sun ??

you're like me man, trying to get more people to run. I kind of gave up though, seeing excuses left and right aggrivates me. I give props to Scott Mack though, when he says he will run he does. I think in the next couple of years we might not be alone on the track as drag racing is dying IMO and time attack is growing.
Larry and Leah from ScionNoics are into HPDE's now and I auto-x with them often. I think they are doing a HPDE in November at Summit I believe, and Scott may also join.

All you need is a helmet and a car to do a HPDE. THAT'S ALL. You dont have to have the best tires in the world, you dont have to have super duper brake pads, you don't have to have a trick suspension. If you think that way, you will never exceed on the track. Life is short, race.

^^ I agree. Only way to improve as a driver is to shut up and drive. The Time Attack was my first time on a track, and I learned a lot. I definitely need more practice before I can really compete though. But that's what these track days are all about.

Yea, I think Leah was doing the same HPDE at Summit that I was in earlier this year. Didn't get to meet her though.

x2. It’s actually better to start off with no modifications to your car. That way you can figure out what you really want to improve about your handling/tires/brakes, install them, and see the difference the next time you’re at the track/autox (esp. if you try it out at the same track.)

There is a Time Trial ($275) and a Supersize TT ($185), and I honestly don’t know the difference. I’m sure the NASA TT website explains the differences.

wish i had the bux eric. i'd totally run this with u. but im late and broke so those to things when their powers are combine come together to form...ME SITTING AT HOME! doesnt really fight crime. or boredom for that matter. im still tryna do november 8-9 HPDE1 tho

i just got a SECOND crack in my ALREADY cracked windsheild from random highway rock but its coming from the right side and tryna meet with the existing crack on the left...taht looks like a recipe for trouble so i gotta fix that too.
