I was passed by 3 other cars and saw the cop the entire time yet he pulled me over. I claimed I was being profiled because of the type of car I was driving (slamed Foresterd on 18's with a TXS exhaust) but of course that did not work. One of the cars that passed me was a fricken school bus! Other than that I have pretty much been left alone since moving here. I would say that the average tint job around my area is 35% or darker! Dude, the cops down in Fairfax even pulled a guy over for the hood scoop on his STI. They stated that it was too tall and blocked his view. There is actually a law on this down there. In the end, about 110 of us caravaned to the court house that morning in protest, all of us with stock hood scoops! The case was droped though several of the folks caravaning got citations for exhaust and everything else you can imagine that day! It was fun though to get the community together to support this guy.

I hear you though and I do appreciate the warning!
how did you get pulled over in fredericksburg for window tint, i have never gotten pulled over for tint and i live there. I dont even think fburg or spotsylvania cops have the meter guns to check the tint. I have been pulled over downtown for my stereo in my old car. lol

Basically, I was driving down route 3, the cop pulled up behind me, turned on his lights, I pulled over and he asked me what the % was. Pretty much the same way you get pulled over for everything else. I was issued a deficiency citations/warning at the time because I protested due to their not having any way to test it other than site. I had to go get the car inspected and then show in court with my documents. That was really all that happened.

Not sure you got a deal or not. I used rpm in Richmond for my xa. 400 bucks for full legal va tint. Lifetime warranty, they will redo it if I got pulled. Took them half a day. It looked factory, to the edges of all glass. No fingers or any bubbles.

When I did it myself I got both fingers and bubbles, but parking in the hot sun and further squeezing it got rid of those. Doing it myself it took like 10 days to "dry".

One way to make the film fit better is to "install" it on the outside of the glass with a heat gun to get the bends of the glass. Then once its flat with no fingers, wrinkles, etc. You remove the protective sheet and install it on the inside.

I bought metal since I didnt like how the sun can burn through the ceremic. Feels great in the hottest of suns. Now I have an ipod itouch and cant use wifi from my car unless I roll down my windows.
