Give me some ideas people

Here is some rough stuff we were debating on....

6 stops... spread from October till January which would be the final stop
(dont complain its cold because drop jaws winter cruise is a huge sucess every year)

Reason spread is so large is to give everyone time to mod some more and get the money to attend these shows

Shows spreading from NC, Virigina, and SC

Poker run... Each stop you will recieve a card... person or persons with the best hand will split $200 bucks at the last show

$20 entry at every show
(reason being is........)

Shows will be based on a points chase....
Winner of best of show gets 12 points
best of class gets 10 points
2nd get 9 and so on down the line... you get 2 points for entering

Person with the most points after the 6th stop will win $2000 cash
xB with the most wins $500
tC wins $500
xA/xD wins $200 (sorry guys there just isnt that many of you)
xB2 wins $200 (sorry guys there just isnt that many of you)

So if you win the big prize you will most likely take home $2500 cash money... not counting bonus money....

Point being is you gotta be there to get the points....
Based on how many cars per stop will be based on the prize money... Sorry people but if only 25 cars show up at each event there is no way i can pay $2000 cash to win it all...

ALSO!!!!! Club participation throughout the whole show will be a $150 gift card to a resturant for you to take your guys out to dinner....

Each show will be judge by 3 different judges each time that way you get different opinions on the winner at each show.

Trophies will be awarded at every show plus a the cash money at the final show.

The whole game is you gotta show up at as many shows as possible to be able for the points championship....

Also.... In the works is paying random points places

Like tC class winner gets $500
2nd gets $200
6th gets $100
10th gets $50

random spots drawn outta a hat so everyone has a reason to keep showing up...

im looking at dealerships now but the catch is i dont want to many close together or in a area where there isnt alot of interest in scions....

I want everyone to feel like there is one within a hour and half of there home.

??? NC maybe Tenn?

If you think your local dealer is interested let me know... its not going to be free for the dealers to do... They will provide the trophies, food, and such for each show... You have to think... its alot of publicity and also we are bringing a ton of people onto their lots... and the more the dealer pays the more in the points fund at the end...

We are going through some dealers now to see who is wanting to do these... thing is... sales is way down so some dealers are very interested in doing something to spark more interest....

Jr - Shows will be organized and set up by me, earl (all scion 0 larry (all scion 0 and most likely a couple more guys from the concord area... Its going to take alot to make these work out

We are looking for a dealership or a company to step up and sponsor the entire event... For Example Shocker Scions presents Battle of the Scion tour or something to that nature...

And also each dealership will be responsable for judges...

I think it would be a ton of fun because everyone will be points racing...

Talking to some companies now to do position sponsors...
for example... guy that finishes 11th overall in points gets a $200 gift certificate to auto zone (just a example)

See the idea of ending it in January is everyone can have all their christmas goodys on and have their ride on top of the game for the final event...

And all the extra money left over (if any) will go towards paying down in positions in points

 

Here is how the points would add up

xB
Wild 1st place - 10 points
2nd place - 9 points
3rd place - 8 points
everyone else - 5 points
Mild the exact same
so you could have a xB in the stock class take all the prize money.... Makes it fair and more even for everyone

1 Bonus point will be awarded for Best Paint, Best Interior, Best ICE and so one... 1 point doesnt seem like a lot but that could be the factor of who wins or loses...

So if the 2nd place xB picks up best interior at every show along with 2nd xb he would be tied with 1st place...

I already see exciting drama bringing this tour down to the wire

 

So what happens if a car goes from mild to wild or visa versa mid tour. Will the points carry over?

JR to answer your question.... Everyone in every class is judged on the same scale... If a car has won 3 events in mild... thats 30 points overall... they add lambo doors and jumps them to wild class and finish 2nd they now have 39 points... a first place no matter in what class in entered as 10 points... those points are per car.... If its done in this manner that will make a stock tc able to win the jackpot... its all based on wins in no matter what class..

People have to play the system smart... if im leading the overall points in a stock tc im not going to do much to my car till after the tour just to make my chances better...

Now if i have a mild tc and that class is cluddered up and im not placing... i would take the gamble to move up to the wild tc class where there is less cars to make my chances better.

Only class ive recieved emails on with questions is xa/xd class.... question was - What if only 3 xa/xds show up at every event and the same guy wins all of them and he ends up with 50 points, how is that fair... well you have to aim for the several ways to reciever bonus points and so on... i would go on the limb right now and say that a xb will win it all because they will be more the likely to take the best interior and i.c.e bonus points so they would have a leg up on the comp.

As of right now we are going to try and keep it within 5 to 6 stops.... might pop one in GA just for giggles but we are looking at several options and right now of the list for sure is

Looking at a Mid October kick off date in Concord, then working our way outta state early november... late november peaking down towards greenville, then another NC stop, VA then ending late January/early feb in Fayetteville with All Scion 09 The Final Destination

Random dates to give you a idea would be
Depending if we wanna do sat or sun shows...

Stop 1 - October 18th wkend
Stop 2 - November 15th wkend
Stop 3 - December 6th wkend
(plenty of break for Christmas/new years) (we all know money is tight around that time)
Stop 4 - January 24th wkend
Stop 5 - Febuary 28th wkend
Stop 6? - March 28th wkend
(dates are not set and are just examples)
Basically all close to a month apart

Question was... What about a Mulligan or if they cant make one... If we do a 6 stop tour we will look at the option of tossing everyones worse finish... which would cover a 0 for not showing. Some mixed emotions on this because Thats not really fair to the guys that show at all 6....

Also after several emails giving the thumbs up on the points system layout ive finalized that portion of the tour

also.... Winner of Best of Show cannot be the winner of his/her class see points below for reason

1st place in class - 10 points
2nd - 9 points
3rd - 8 points
4th - 7 points
everyone else entered 5 points

Best of Show 13 points (wanna keep it as close as possible)

Bonus Points:
Best Interior 1 point
Best I.C.E 1 point
Best Paint/Graphics 1 point


the whole idea for the Best of show being only 3 points higher is.... I dont want someone coming in and ruining it for everyone else... If the points were 15 for best of show... and i have a $40,000 car come to only 3 shows and win best of show at all 3 and take best interior, thats 48 points after 3 shows... yeah they have the nicest... but it wouldnt be fair to average joe thats building furniture mon-fri just to show his xB at these shows... He would have to win his class all 5 times just to beat the car built by the custom shop down the street and trailered to every show...

If we average 60 cars at each show (which i think we will have 100 at each show) here is what we will do....


Highest xB - $500
Highest tC - $500
Highest xA/xD - $500
Highest xB2 - $500

1st place in points - $3000 plus highest class fund!!!!
2nd place in points - $500
3rd place in points - $400
4th place in points - $300
5th place in points - $200
6th - 10th - $100

(all money based on a 60 car average... if more at every show we will pay down more)


to answer several email questions....
YES! you may enter more then one vehicle... each vehicle will be listed different in the points and have a number...

If Joe has a xb and a tc then he may enter both vehicles... it will still be a $20 a car charge to enter every show so if he wants to pay $40 for every show... go right ahead.

Once we open registration you will be given a number and that number is the one you will use at every show...

Had several question asking about bonus points and such...
As the time gets near we will be adding several more ways to get bonus points... say if the parts store sponsor wants to give 1 point bonus to the cleanist car at the show then we will do stuff like that.

Also if you attend all the shows you will get 2 free points at the end.. would hate for someone to lose by a point because they only came to 5...

Im very aware that we are basically playing for money and its going to come down to the wire with tempers and such but it will be alot of fun and something we hope to do for several years to come.

Also... You dont have to attend all the shows to enter the events... if you live in SC and want to just come out to that show we more then welcome you and hopefully you can stir the pot up a little and knock someone off the top... be very interesting.

How it will all work...

Basically each dealership will hold a car show as if they were doing it on their own. The buy the trophies and line up the food, judges, dj and such and we basically make the headache alot less cause we bring the cars and do all the advertisment.
