Here is a little story some of you might enjoy.
“You can see me at Scion Exposed April 19th at the Orlando/Sanford International Airport.” These were my last words as I pulled away from my recent traffic stop on my way home from work. Strange comment you say, let me tell you the whole story.
I was on my home the other day when I encountered the typical five o’clock traffic. As usual there is somebody driving slower than anybody else in the left lane. I wait for a spot in the right lane to pass. There it is. I pull into the right lane, get past the car and then slide back into the left lane. No problem. That is until I spot blue lights behind the car I just passed. I pull back into the right lane and keep watching my mirrors. About a half mile later the slow car finally pulls to the right allowing the officer to pass. I look at my speedometer. 57mph. He ain’t coming after me. Wrong! He pulls in behind me and motions me to the right. As luck would have it, I pull into our local Saturn dealership. The officer gets out his car followed by 2 guys, one carrying a camera. “What in the heck is going on?” I said to myself. The officer approaches and asks me if I know why he stopped me. I replied with the typical answer, “no sir”. “I stopped you for not signaling when you made your lane changes and it looked like you were traveling too close to the car in front you. Could I see your license please?” I hand him my license and he steps back to the car to run my plates and license. The guy asks me some questions about why I thought I got stopped. The whole time the camera is running. Finally, the camera operator introduces himself as one of the producers of the tv show Speeders on TRU TV. I couldn’t help but start laughing. By now everybody working at the Saturn dealership was outside looking at my poor Scion being hassled by the popo.
After a few minutes of talking about the traffic stop, they start asking about my car. The typical questions like, how fast is it, what mods have you done, do you go to car shows, etc. The producer hollers back at the officer if I can get out of the car and he says yes. “Would mind showing us your car?” he asks. I exit the car and start doing about a ten minute walk around, hood up, hatch open, camera rolling the whole time. They loved the fact that several of my mods were bought at my local hardware store instead of a speed shop. “This car’s for showin, not for goin” I said. After the laughter died down the camera man gave a thumbs up to the officer who promptly returned to me.
“ Mr. Sells, I’m not going to give you a ticket at this time but don’t you agree that following to close to another car would do a lot of damage to your good looking car in case you couldn’t stop in time“. Of course I agreed with him and he let me off with just a warning. The producer asked me as I was pulling away when my next car show was and I replied “You can see me at Scion Exposed April 19th at the Orlando/Sanford International Airport.” Yes, it was being recorded. So, maybe with some luck it will air before Exposed providing some national tv coverage. Not the coverage I would have hoped for, but free advertising is priceless.
Update-By chance my son saw it advertised. It was on new years eve @ 8 o'clock. it still isnt updated on the website yet, but it prolly wont be long b4 its posted. I'll set up the link when they post it. they blurred out the scion logo but not the big scion logo on the windshield. i had a ball doing it since i have seen the show b4 and know that they blast the drivers. i gave them plenty of ammo for the clip.

LOL thats funny man i passed someone the other too that they had pulled over. I wondered what they were doing. Great this will give cops even more reason to pull people over for no reason. Hopefully they won't get happy when they see my window tint. I'll see you this weekend man at the Scion birthday party. My car won't be there because someone they decided they wanted to back up without looking and smashed my front fender and my wheel. Thank god they had insurance. see ya this weekend man

they were busy yesterday on speedway blvd. one of our drivers said he saw them stop at least 4 people. maybe we should all meet up and give him a run for his money. u can go to TRUTV.Com and search the officers. mine was tim hartsell.
I could see them pulling an xA over for loitering......
"No sir, Mister Officer, I wasn't following too close on purpose, you see my car is so small, I was caught in the other guy's wake...."

i dont think so. the show is supposed to be on thur nites but they changed the schedule and its not listed anymore. tru tv has been taking alot of hits since they changed from court tv. just my luck. finally get some exposure and they cancel the series. guess i should have turned it into a high speed chase ( no coments allowed), at least it would have made the local news.
