It's common to see empty pumps in middle South Carolina also.

im happy living here in Wilmington. we have plenty of gas but horrible quality.

Jeff Gordon Chevrolet has seen an increase of fuel problems in their vehicles. mostly because one of the stations (probably Go Gas) had a mixture of 50% alcohol in their fuel. i try and get my gas at the BP or Carolina Petrol. their are just a few exxons and plenty of Citgos. exxon is the most, Citgo is pretty good.

gas for regular is 3.81. diesel is 4.10

and why is Diesel so expensive? its so easy to make. the whole process is next to nothing compared to unleaded gasoline.

The North Carolina gas tax is high as ***k too

So as my group that's about to go to VIR for the weekend speculates about what we're going to do for gas...
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5i...HjRFAD93GKPBO0

My favorite part...
"I've used up gas just looking for gas," said Larry Jenkins, a construction worker who pulled his red pickup truck into a Citgo station in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday. The sign said $3.99 a gallon, but the pumps were closed. Many filling stations in the area have not had gas for days.

"Right now, I'll pay anything for gas," Jenkins said. "I don't care if it's $5 or $6 a gallon. I need it."

Seriously, how much like a junkie do we really have to sound about this issue before we start doing sensible things like carpooling or taking public transportation or just plain not driving around aimlessly looking for more gasoline?

we as a society have to get rid of the "me" personna. we have to think of everybody. i started some mild hypermiling months ago and saw an increase of 15% in my mileage. nothing drastic was changed except my driving habits and number of trips. it doesnt help the fact that the news stated distributors were witholding shipments so they didnt run out. we as a society need to remember the 70's when gas was rationed and we all changed our habits then. "bad habits are created in good times"

pretty much everyone is to blame. refinery production is down due to hurricanes, distribution is witholding to maintain their inventory, media blowing things out of proportion creating panic, and the public for fueling the fire by hoarding all the gas they can. I persopnally wouldnt mind seeing rationing come back so that everyone is able to put fuel in their cars until production is back up.
