Since this was a big topic at the meet post here about new ideas for meets in Charlotte. Only thing I got to say, is generally malls and large shopping centers have security that will run you off real fast. It might be best to consider smaller places or maybe places to eat.

jillians is always fun afterwords. i wonder what it would take to get a day at the race track. i know nothing about nascar season and such so no flaming about races or whatever please. just thought it might be cool to hang out in the middle maybe have a small show or something with more than just scions. or we could make it a huge meet and invite the whole board...i don't know. i'm not from up in charlotte so I'm not sure what there is to do up there. My mazda guys had a meet at UNC one time in parking lot. had about 30 cars, mazdas and subarus. had one flint mica tc show up as well. i'm rambling...peace

 

we could always do the Victory Lane meet again...which was one of the best meets we ever did

 

Charlotte ideas: Next meet we could meet at Hooters, and try to get in touch with the owner or some of the girls and have them pose for our cars individually or as a whole. This idea was brought up by Ray (i believe he was the one that brought it up..Someone did)

If theres a autocross place around charlotte, it would be awesome to start a meet there. Once a month we could use the place strictly for scions or strictly for imports to make it more interesting. I have experience within this area, so if we could even just have a wide open place to set it up. Everyone could chip money in for cones, and i could set up the track for everyone. If we did all imports, we could do a $5.00 charge fee for everyone, and because it serves as a Scion meet Scion's could come free of charge.

Another idea i was thinking of, we could do like a mod day that falls on the 1st sunday where who ever has new mods saves them till the meet. We could meet at someones house like around 10am and just hang out all day, have a cook out later the day and work on who evers car(s) that have parts that need to be installed. Theres a few meets like this on the west coast, and its a fun idea we could try on the east coast.

Because not everyone is old enough to drink (mainly me.. ) i rule out any strict bar ideas. Great idea, but i would have nothing to do there but watch others drink. lol


Norhern NC idea:
Remember the boone idea i had? Well i want to bring it back and was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing this. Everyone could meet in North Wilkesboro. We could travel up to Boone to eat and just relax. Great scenery for pictures and a relaxing college town. This could also fall under a 1st sunday meet if anyone was up to it.

Hopefully something i said interests some of you.

 

boone is a little far for me to drive so i wouldn't really be up for that. i like the mountains and all but don't want to drive that long. i'm up for all the other stuff...i still have my cold air pipe part of my injen that needs to get installed. jon offered to help me tho so we'll see. i like the autocross idea although i don't have a helmet and i've never done it before. plus i have no suspension mods either. i'm pretty open tho. i can hang out pretty much anywhere. call me crazy but i like sitting around at hooters and eating/watching sports/just shootin the ____! so whatever

edit: i want to make it known i'm not lame...i didn't say poop...shootin the poop? who says that. come on, this is the internet. if you don't want to be offended then don't read it.

There's a Hooters here in Hickory that would be half way for charlotte people and you..

How about a picnic in the summer?

Concord Scion/Toyota is the offical meets, south charlotte meets was the one up for debate i believe. This one will remain until otherwise posted. Theres a lot of places there to eat and do in that area, so i really don't think we should start changing the Concord meets yet. Especially since toyota/scion is willing to have us meet there. Its definitely something cool.

A suggestion though, has anyone thought about meeting in front of the store? I mean, in the back is cool but if we meet in the front we might be able to help them with business. People will see all the scions gathered and they might stop in and ask whats up. Kind of like a meet for us, a car show for Toyota. It might benefit them more if we did that. It would be them giving to us, us giving back to them if the sight of our scions brought business.

Just a thought.

 

South blvd Hooter's!

 

i think if we could get some space up front it would be a really cool thing to do. it might also attract other scion owners in the area. i can remember countless times where ppl just showed up to a mazda meet simply because they were driving by and stopped for a bit. good way to get more people into the community. and yes the benefits to the toyota dealership i think make sense as well. we might have to ask them for the space tho. the front is most always littered with new cars for sale

 

We'd love to have you at Cloninger Scion sometime. Salisbury is a good distance from north and south. We're just off 85 and easy to find. Pleant of places to go and eat. Pleant of smaller clubs from afterword. Just let me know when and I can have as much lot cleared as you need. I'd love to meet you guys and check out your rides.
