North Carolina's governor has asked...
people to conserve water. This includes not washing your car and in his words, "A dirty car is a sign of civic responsibility nowadays." In rebuttal, I found a website that sells a waterless car wash system: Freedom Waterless Car Wash Site

I understand that there is water in this product, but it is substantially less than what people usually use when hand washing or going through a car wash.

Umm. Screw that. When my black car gets dirty I'm washing it. Plus theres something not that fun about having sand sitting all over your car cause you live four miles from an ocean and there is sand everrrrywhere! He wants to pay for paint then I can not wash my car.
well you can still go to a self wash. but you just cant wash at your home with a hose. on Colonial drive, they were handing out warnings to the people with sprinklers that automatically come on. so the WPD is enforcing the rule. so watch out :-P
My plan is to go to walmart and buy a couple of those three gallon bottles of distilled water usually like buck or two and wash my car with that. When the cops come show them the receipt with that days date on it. Just to make a statement. Its ____ing stupid its ok to wash if you pay to do it but not to do it at home. I could give a ____ less if my yard is dead or green but I want my car clean. Also in Raleigh the current restrictions still allow power washing your house but washing your car is off limits. How ____ed is that I bet I can use less than 4 gallons to wash my car. How much you think it takes to power wash a whole house....
