Default ok, should i get a Scion xB or a Mazda 3.. i need HELP!

ok, so i'm really really torn... see, i have thought about getting a Scion xB for EVER but then along came a Mazda3 Special Edition, which caught my eye as did the Scion. so, most likely, either tonight or tomorrow i will be purchasing either one of those cars.. and i don't know which i'd rather have. i mean, i like both alot.. but i'm STUCK!!! i wish i had enough dough to just take both and live happily ever after.. but i don't. so if i could have some input from some people, that'd be REALLY nice. oh, and take this into consideration also.. i'm starting a band and i'm going to be needing to haul my drums around and maybe a bass also. both have space for it.. i think.. but yea, i'm still TORN. HELLLPPPPPPP!!!

Right after I got my box, a good friend of mine got his Evil 3
as I call it. He let me take it out around the block.

WOW! What a fun little car!

The xB has "odd" looks that I like, LOTS of space, easy on
gas, and lots of mods for it.

The Evil 3 drives like it's on rails, has good styling and nice
interior,
and has all the power that the xB is missing.

If you are looking for a fun drive with some style Mazda 3.

If you are looking for a car that looks better then it drives, xB.

oh, by the way.. the Mazda3 is the hatch one... not the sedan one or whatnot. and it seems to have plenty of room also for drums.. but i don't knowwwwww..

thanks for the input lonely raven.. you're off the CHIZAIN.

xB is cheaper, gets better mileage, has more room.

3 is faster, handles better, and safer.

It's your choice.

Have you seen the new Mazda5? A mini minivan on the 3 chassis.

yea! i saw that, and test drove it. i liked it ok.. but i was kinda iffy about the minivan deal. i mean, the sliding doors.. i felt like i should have been slinging some kids in there.. but who knows. it was pretty catchy looking though.. but so is the xB! ugg, i have plans for an xB, but i wouldn't mind the more power aspect of the 3. can you get a xB to eventually be quicker than a 3? i know as stock, the 3 has more horsepower and such... but yea.

I went with my xA over the 3. I thought it was a nice car, but that it could have handled better. I'm being honest here, my Corolla handles very nice, but it's rwd and has some suspension bits.

Anyway, it came down to cost. xA was cheaper to purchase and cheaper to own. I'm talking total cost of ownership, which includes mileage. Take the money you save from buying the box and buy some gas to get to your gigs. Or for that matter buy some springs/shocks and get sporty handling. That's my 2 cents anyway.

No Question. Go with the Xb. You also have to look at relibility and resale of a Scion (Toyota) over the Mazda as well. Plus better gas mileage and at over 2.50 a gallon it dont take long to add up some serious cash. I would agree do the mods your self and save the $

Both are nice cars, so Keep test driving them untill you know what you really want to be driving.
The xB will last longer and be cheaper to own, but you may not be able to get over how slow it is.
P.S. a blitz S/C will make it just as fast as a mazda 3

Depending on your insurer and driving record, the xB should be significantly cheaper to insure than the "M3." I like the Mazda 3 5-door than the sedan.
