during the mini meet this past sun, xbeepbeep came up with a great idea for a poker run so i started doin some figuring. this should happen sometime this fall after the weather starts to cool and the show season is winding down. i figured starting out at toyota of concord to cloninger toyota in salisbury to lake norman in huntersville to scott clark's in charlotte and back to toyota of concord. according to mapquest it will be about 100 miles with a 2 hr travel time not counting pit stops. i will talk with wesley some time this week to see if he has anything in the works as far as a big meet this summer so it may be sooner. this is just a feeler for something to do, so if there r comments, now is the time for suggestions. the monies collected will go to some charity, unsure of which. if the dealership helps out it may be one of hendrick's charities since they will be sponsoring the event (hopefully). c'mon people, let me know what u think so we can start planning!

Im not sure i know what a poker run is? Is it like a race ore is it just stopping at different locations to chill?

 

You need to check with Kent Moyer up at Cloninger. I am sure he will do somethingto help us.

 

i plan on getting up with the ones i have listed so that they can help us out.

a poker run starts a designated place usually with 4 stops. you will draw a playing card at each stop until you have 5 cards. best hand and worst hand usually pays. at each stop you draw a card and chill until time to leave and then caravan to the next stop. its a great time just riding around with people of the same interest and the monies usually go to a good cause. getting the worst hand is not as easy as it sounds when a picture card drops you out of the race most of the time.

 

Damn, I got all happy thinking this was a bike poker run......I am down for this, except it takes a few more people then we usually get at meets to make a poker run fun.

i totally think the dealership to dealership thing will be awesome. i know there will have to be other car crews / types of cars involved in order to make it successful but i def want to caravan with scions. i have three decks of cards. lol. im sure my friends wouldnt mind coming out to help for a good cause too. whyte azn, ask your girls too & maybe we can get more people involved if they know theres gonna be a strong female presence at every stop?? hehehe throw some ___ guys in and im totally there!! hehehehehehe.
