I live here in Georgetown and the wife and I love it. We lived in Lexington for about 5 years after we first got married, and thought it was great. Big city, stuff to do all the time, yadda yadda, yadda. We sold that house, moved into an apartment here in G-town for a couple of years, and just moved in to our house sitting on 2 acres in a 30+ year old subdivision that cost us less than our house on 35x75 ft lot in Lex. And the nice thing with living here, we can be at Hamburg Pavillion in Lexington if we need to do any big store shopping, in less time than it took when we lived in Lex.
The weather... what can i say. The saying in KY is if you don't like the weather, wait a couple of hours. The high tomorrow (Sat) is supposed to be around 72. And by the end of the week, back up to about 90.
We are 15 minutes (ish) to Lexington, 45-50 minutes from Cincy, 45-50 minutes to Louisville. It's not bad. Hope this helps.

Sheep no...but Cows and Horses...yes.
Georgetown is about 15 minutes from Lexington; A...Small City...Overgrown Town.
There are two things that you should get used to when living in KY (esp. the Lexington area). Life revolves around University of Kentucky Sports & Horses. If you're not a fan of either...you're SOL.
Lexington is an overgrown town...where it seems like everyone knows each other.
Georgetown is a small quiet community it seems; everyone seems to know someone that works at the Toyota Plant.
But in all honesty, it isn't such a bad place...
Kentucky weather is surprisingly humid...but not nearly as humid as some locals think. If you're from the MI...then you might find that it's pretty Dry. I found Detroit a fairly humid place.
