Ok folks, this is depressing but I think I'm going to take my xb to be professionally painted. Aka no painting hut. So do we have any recommendations of local paint shops that'll do the job well and can do a custom design please send me names or addresses or numbers so I can get quotes...

Thanks friends... lol

I blame Stu!! Jk lol nah just reading more about what needs to be done makes me nervous that I'd be able to pull it off and not have it come out like junk. I don't know yet. I gotta get prices from shops... then do some more research on what it takes to do it myself and see what happens.

Wise decision Sam. I will take a look around and see who can do what. Do you want them to do just the base coat or the whole paint job?

I need someone to do everything including the pattern. I just don't wanna spend 3gs on it ya know? So we'll see what happens. I know if I took my time and had patience I could do it, but idk.

Are you changing the whole color of the xb? if so then you need to do the jams under hood etc.... probably wont find anyone close to 2g to do all of that/w graphics. now if you are keeping the same "base" color and want to add graphics to that and re-clear the whole xb then depending on the graphics you are probably looking at like $1500. /$2000. make sure you do research on the shop if you have someone do it, there are a LOT of shops that talk the talk but cant walk the walk, lol or you can just have a paint party. With all of the ct people wont be hard to do! time to start a list for the next ct "paint" meet! mind as well make this my first meet, lol well first non scikotics non nrg meet!

come on, a paint meet is when we all come down to give you a hand! duh, lol seriously though, shooting color is not that hard. the prep work is the hardest part, taping everything off good, sanding it right, etc... remember though it is VERY time consuming to do it right, but it shows in the end. feel free to ask any questions, if i can answer them i will and if not i am sure stu could also answer any questions you have. and probably some other ct people but i dont know anyone else to well.

thanks bruce!! yeah i got alot of questions... i'm sure stu is sick of me asking him so yayy i got a new target LOL. if i paint my car its not going to be until march or april soooo i got time to plan it out. i want to two tone the car (leave the top black) and then the bottom is getting painting another color with the design over the new color. so its gonna be tricky. i dont even know what im going to do. but its good to know that you guys would help out very cool. the idea of a paint party sounds more fun than dropping my car off at a shop. because i really believe if the prep is done right then the painting will be a breeze. i'm still doing a lot of research
