I have been thinking about getting a turbo or supercharger i really want a turbo though but im worried that im not going to pass inscpection here in NH.So how do you guys with turbo get your stickers every year?

 

u have to get the vehicle re-inspected each year??
thats retarded, i wouldn't think the turbo or s/c would be an issue of passing inspection

well no cat with a turbo so i would assume you would fail the visual inspection.
with the s/c you will pass as long as you didnt put headers on

 

I dont know how things are in NH but I know in NY and NJ and PA there are private inspection shops that you can go to. If you find the right one you can pay like a $100 and they will just pass you no questions asked.. I had to do that with my celica...

easy way to get a modded car, or old beater state inspected

 

I would think that would be risky for the shops doing those inspections. If a cop pulls you over and happens to check for mods and sees you aren't compliant, can't the cop look at the sticker and trace it back to the shop? (I am assuming there are some sort of numbers on the sticker that they can trace.)

 

it should have the shop name on the sticker
but most places will say you did the mods AFTER they inspected it

 

well around here 20 bucks will pass you.
and the cars are hooked up to the computer now. as long as your not showing a CEL you would pass.

 

Yea PA inspection stickers have the Inpection Station # on the back. But cops dont really hassle for illegal parts here.

emissions they hook up to obdII, state inspection should be a visual inspection of all components on a vehicle, not a computerized check

 

thats not true for NY. In NYS all inspections are video taped and mailed to Albany for review. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get away with it in NYS.

Not all of them.. I knew of (not sure if they are still around or even doing inspections anymore) a few shops in the Bronx that used to do phony inspections.. What most shops do is they put a car on the machine run that car and use its specs for your car and put the passing sticker in your window..

Do you honestly think the state takes the time to review every single tape of inspections. In New York, there was more cars than people...by a lot. You really think they review 20 million + video tapes to make sure all the cars are inspected correctly?

I went to a place in Deer Park on Long Island and got my old beater Jetta inspected for $50 and I don't think that thing ever touched a dyno or an exhaust tip analyzer.

yea in tx we dont have state insepections just emissions and registration thats it.
