Ripp Mods all the way. Only company I would trust. They have numerous tC's that have been tuned under their belt.

You have nothing to lose.

Ross is the man.

RIPP has done a bunch of tC's at this point for various installs... be it boost coolers to turbo kits, and has been in business for something like 10 years with car performance and tuning experience in the shop of over 50 years collectively...

And before anyone makes any comments about this i havent worked for the company since July..., so dont think this is coming from a biased employee either.

Note to all: Do not badmouth a dealer with rumors and unconfirmed information. Beyond_limits - you come here with 1 post and start doing that? not acceptable.

Don't make me moderate on this again.

Ripp Mods for the win.

Their cam regrinds, Boost cooler and tuning with a 12lb pulley has my TRD Supercharged tC doing 300whp daily driven.

All I need are upgraded injectors and I'm all set. They're installing 'em this week.

I have no experience with Street Stealth - but I'm leery of anyone who deals with ZPI, Monster Motorworks aka Weapon-R. Just my personal opinion, since I'm confident that those companies are shady as can be. I've dealth with MMW/Weapon-R and know how shady they can be. ZPI's given the runaround to enough customers on SL to keep me away.

Ripp constantly amazes me every time I go there. They are downright *PASSIONATE* about making power. It's obviously not just a job to them.

Case in point, my car was leaning out at 5500rpm. Perry and Ross were talking for a second, and without wasting any time, they had my back seat ripped out and were swapping out my fuel pump (they didn't charge me!).

After all was said and done, the problem (which they pretty much knew would be the case) was the injectors weren't beefy enough. They said they would have put the 650's in on the spot - but my rail wouldn't accomodate them....

I have the injectors coming and they're going to design a fuel return since our systems are returnless....

Those guys at Ripp are pure genius.

Well We carry these brands because of there product availability for the scion aftermarket and i feel to judge the quality of someones work based on the companies that They make available to our customers is ludacris. if we didnt carry these brands then murphys law would state that everyone would want them. We are indeed a small shop but we take the quality of what we turn out very seriously

We are not here to bash anybody. we love scions and have based both our online sales and our shop around them since our inception in 2001.
We exist because we just want to be able to make a living of doing what we love .

You're always going to hear about the bad experiences. We're talking about TUNING here. We're talking about taking motors way beyond their intended specs.

The guys at ripp will be the first to tell you - Anything can go wrong at any time. All you can do is monitor things the best you possibly can with whatever resources you have (Wideband o2, for instance).

You can't go to ANY tuning shop and expect 100% safety with your motor.

When you hear about negative experiences regarding ANY tuner, you always have to consider the source. A lot of "negative" experiences are going to come from kids who just spent a few grand on a turbo kits - and when something goes wrong, the money they spent makes it easy for them to justify blaming the installer. See, with my install, if I blow up MY motor I only have one person to blame - myself. I decided to persue running my motor even FURTHER out of spec, and I knew the risks going in.

When TRD researched a vortech-based supercharger for the tC, Vortech themselves recommended they go to Ripp for a solution. That speaks volumes about them right there.

10lb of boost on a 12lb pulley is pretty much what you'll get when the pulley itself has little contact area. That's pulleys for you, and I knew I would have some slippage issues from the very beginning.

Ripp is working on a new tensioner design to help alleviate that, but the bottom line is, pulleys can only get so small where you start to have slippage.

The injectors are not stock. They are the upgraded ones that come with the TRD kit (410cc). Before we even started, we knew we were going to run out of fuel, but I went ahead anyway. I can afford to take some chances. New injectors will be here this week.

Turbo kits are a completely different animal when compared to blowers. Maybe after a little experience, you'll discover that yourself.

Edit: I hope you take this quite literally - It's very hard to consider someone "credible" when they lack decent language and/or grammar skills.
