Sorry if u took it the wrong way. im definetly not making any jokes about how much u paid for anything.
no that's cool. i wasn't offended at all. i was being honest. you CAN do it yourself. i have taken this car apart about 50 times so far and the more i do, the more i learn. honestly i have had some work done on the car and frankly..it has been shoddy. i wound up fixing or redoing certain things i won't go into.
that's why i know on my next car i will be doing the leather myself, i'll just buy the material and do it myself...i have actually been toying with the idea of doing the dash and some other accent pieces, but..ahh so many ideas..so little time, and cash.
you can be sure i will be building my own sub box..
but the other thing is partly true. at this point talking about prices with people is meaningless. price is all relative to what's important to you..and what you know.
i was telling the guys thursday...a kit installed by the dealer was $1600.and that's a kit..no real choice in individuality, and the quality is well..mediocre. and up from there..i have seen $20k custom leather jobs. yes, $20k.some guys would spend $1200 on full HID retrofit. defintely not for me, but that's cool too. it's what is important to you and what you perceive to have value.
you can be sure when i start the performance crap...i'm not going to talk numbers on whp there either. it's not worth it on SL.

Glad you came out thisa week dave we look forward to seeing you around more. We need to talk to Billy about a new spot for the winter that's either covered or some type of biweekly event. Bowling, slot car racing, pool, etc...
