unless you wanna destroy your rims from all the road salt during the winter. most peeps use their stock wheels as snow tires so they dont damage their rims. i'd say yeah your gonna need them driving up north in the snow

I would definitely recommend snows, or at least a good set of all-season tires. Of course, it's all hit or miss. If there isn't snow, you are good to go. However, nothing beats good tread for these New England winters. This is precisely why I bought my XB....ABS + traction control for less than 15K. Cheers!

When do you normally switch out from your rims to your stocks? My car is still in the shop from a car accident, but I'm thinking by the time I get it back I'll need to have the tires switched? Any suggestions?

I just got some Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50s put on last night. So far they're driving great so dry road performance doesn't hinder handling which is key. Get a quote from tirerack and bring it to a Town Fair Tire. They'll match the price so it's a good deal especially if you plan on visitng her in Western MA (which happens to be where I live and I visit my girl all the time in Boston for what it's worth).
