In Pittsburgh at the moment. Which place is least shady in your opinion around here:

-Jiffy Lube
-Midas
-Monro Muffler
-Advance Auto Parts
-Autozone
-Pep Boys
-Spitzer Toyota

From my experience Jiffy Lube has ripped me off. Midas is slow but expensive. Monro Muffler had me walk for 2 hrs and didn't move my car an inch for oil change. Advance Auto Parts is a store and let me dump my oil in their oil bin. Autozone is a store that is decent. Pep Boys are completely worthless (and saw I was not alone by reviews on Google PA search). Spitzer Toyota charged me $380 for a free recall on the side airbags LOL.

Was going to get a battery done at NTB but decided I'll do that myself. Was going to get spark plugs replaced at dealer but decided I'll do that myself. Only thing left is to find a place that can mount tires I buy off the internet (Hankooks ooh yeah) but not have the person magically find other problems with the car. I think I've been bent over by everyone here from Monroeville to Pittsburgh and everyone in between.

2 different Midas's.
At least 3 different Jiffy Lubes.
1 shady Spitzer Scion dealer.
1 rip off report NTB.

the list goes on. After awhile I just assume I am going to get screwed wherever I go LOL. Wish I knew someone with a garage or a mechanic that I was friends with. Back in VA, never had these issues.

Do you know how to install TRD springs? Or have the tools to do so?

Do you know any places around Monroeville that won't screw me over on tire mounting? I thought about getting tires at some of these places but I can get the best online and styles I want with a larger selection. Was thinking about getting complete set of tires and wheels but not interested in paying $1200+ at the moment. I can get some nice tires online for under $700 but don't want to go some place that gives me attitude and creates all these bogus labor chargers. I'm not dumb. I mounted tires in HS. I just don't have any of the machines or access to any of them anymore.

Willing to pay no more than $15 per tire and no other BS.

Will a place like Costco do it?

Also aren't our cars wheels have pressure sensors? Do these Monroeville people know how to move that sensor to a new rim?

i don't know if you can move the sensor to the new rim or not. i'm not a big tire guy, but i haven't heard of anyone transferring the sensor.

The only thing you can do I call around and ask what each place will charge. Either way your going to pay more than 15 bucks a tire. You may pay only 15 fo the mounting but the you have to have them balanced and that's another charge. And if you already have tires one the wheels you want your new tires on your going to pay a tire disposal fee too. As for the tire pressure sensor whe I got new whells I just got new sensors so I could have a set for the winter and a set for the summer. I'm pretty sure that the only thing that will happen if you don't have the sensors is that the light on your dash will be on

What's a good price total in your opinion to install 4 tires that I bring in? (just tire, not tire/wheel combo).

Also how is the sensor attached to the car? Is it through infrared or something?

Honestly I couldn't tell you whenever I got my tires the price for mounting and all that was included in the price of the tires. What year is you car the 05-06 have a diffrent sensor than the rest. I think 07 an on have a sensor in the wheel that reads the pressure the 05-06 got off the abs sensor.

Just call a few places and see what they charge there's like 10 diffrent places that will mount tires for you in monroeville. Theres even a place that will let you get your tires now and pay for them week by week. Just make a few calls and you will have your answer

i do most of my own work on my car, but when i take it to the shop for inspection, tires, maintenence and so on... i go to john varney's tire on brownsville road in carrick. ive been going there for years and they are allways good to me and charge me a decent price. i wont take any car to rohrich toyota cause they suck. there body shop is the worst and i wont take it to a dealer for any work other than warranty work. lucky for me ive had my tc for 2 years now and have had no problems what so ever. other thatn some jack **** wrecking into me and rorich doing a lousy job

I got an 05. I ordered in fall of 04 though haha. I think I don't have on-rim tire sensors. Is Mr Tire good? How about Cooper Tire? I'm trying to get a place that is near a place to eat so I don't get hungry LOL. I went to Midas one time and it took over 1 hr for oil change and the only place around was that gas station (the Midas on William Penn I think near Popeyes at the end that is by itself).

I don't know how everyone on here affords all these upgrades.

Correct, your tire pressure sensor is located in your ABS system. When the sensor senses that one of the wheels is spinning faster than the others, it trips the light. (smaller wheel has to spin faster to keep up with a larger wheel).
