Default "shades"

Can you make a "shade" on the driver and passenger side doors without getting into trouble with the police? I'm thinking of getting some tinted window clings and putting a strip of it on the top of the driver and passenger windows to help with the winter glare. Is this legal in NY?

Default ...NOT LEGAL....

Probably not legal, any obstruction on any front window.
I use the E-SAM's window vent visor and it blocks out the sun for me.

Are you short? First try two rubberbands around the sun visor that hold a peice of cardboard. Let the cardboard extend past the end of the sun visor. Adjust it to block the sun. This mod will cost almost nothing and may work on some sun angles.
Try it and report!

Thank you, however, I was hoping to be able to use something a little less expensive than those. I found a plastic window cling that I thought I might be able to cut a strip out of and put at the top of the window like the side visors.

I like the idea of adding length to the visors. Hmmmmmmm.... wonder what can be done....
