Wow..

Anyway, I'm probably going to be seeing Cloverfield tonight in Warrington. It's also playing at KoP in DLP (digital projection). Questions: Was the movie good and should it be seen in DLP?
i saw it in DLP... amazing.

I think the producers wanted to create more of an "experience" than a traditional movie. I avoided all reviews and previews before going into it and maybe that was a mistake, but prior acclimation should not be a prerequisite for movie enjoyment.

I'll some up my thoughts this way: I would have been just as satisfied watching a crappy "CAM" copy of shaky Sony(R) HandyCam(TM) bootlegging as opposed to spending $20 for myself and my date. We ended up entertaining each other because the movie certainly wasn't doing it (if you know what I mean.. *wink* ******)

the movie sucked squirrel dick

I liked Cloverfield, I just hated the ending. I didn't mind the camerawork, as that was the entire intention of the movie.

The ending isnt so bad if you look at it this way, **SPOILER ALERT** 1. your watching "recovered" footage from "ground zero" 2. It's pretty inevidable that if your using a camcorder and not charging the battery, there's only 1 way for it to end and 3, it just leaves it open for another one to feed you more info about what the hell it is, where it came from and after the credits you hear a 5 second static radio call, well if you record it and play it backwards it says "It's still alive." Oh and did anyone catch "the monster" dropping from the sky into the water in the last scene when rob is filming the ocean from the top of the ferris wheel? (you see a black object fall and make a big splash in the extreme right side of the screen right on the horizon)

Well, at the time, I hated it. Now I can rationalize, as it was set up to give us something to lead us on.

There's supposed to be a sequel.

As far as the 'thing' falling from the sky, it's supposed to be a satellite, not the monster, although I haven't read into it lately. The monster was in the ocean and was disrupted by offshore oil drilling rigs, from what I recollect.

There's a whole bunch of viral advertising used to point fingers in the movie.
