vince and zack, what do you guys recommend for lens' for my Nikon D40? I was looking at selling off my kit lens (18-55) and my 55-200VR, and buying the 18-200VR lens. Ive been reading a lot of mixed reviews on it. You guys have any input?

 

The 18-200 appears to be a very capable everyday lens for the Nikon. It gives you a bigger zoom range to shoot from which is useful if you're going out and don't want to swap out lenses too often. I still recommend you get the 50mm f/1.8

 

50mm f/1.8 is great for low light - big aperature!

i really want to get the 50mm prime lens. Joey, from www.phlllysnaps.com is a really good friend of mine, and he just got the lens and i shot a bunch of shots wth it. i like theway it performs.

The main reason i was looking at the 18-200 is because i hate having to swap lenses to go from close range, to zoom. I cant tell you how many times i had to switch lenses at Chrissy and Eds wedding just to get some good shots.
