yea so, this past fall i was involved in a car accident with a drunk driver. My dad was driving the car and a drunk driver head on with us. Fast forward to now and we got 200,000 settlement. So my dad has given me 10,000 to get a car. Obviously that isnt enough to get a decent scion (or at least in my standards) i could prolly push another 5 thousand out of my dad but no more...should i buy used like 06 or 07? the only problem with that is some of the accessories that you could put in it may not be in the used car i buy...could a scion dealership install some of the features i want in it? like trd sport muffler?

the other route i was thinking i could do is my mom plans on trading in her 04 corolla with 90,000 miles on it and getting a new car. my mom ins't really picky with cars so i was thinking, if i use her car as a trade in with some cash could i get like a scion tc 07? and give her the 10,000 to spend on her own car? could i find out a trade in value of the car online somehow?

idk, im thinking the first option is prolly a better idea if possible, but if all else fails i guess i could buy a mustang? lol

 

you can get factory options at the dealership installed, yes. but it'll be overpriced. look around this site for some cool stuff like in the "CLASSIFIEDS" section.

 

I bought a used 05 last year, S16,000, came with a few cool factor goodies. I wouldnt buy floor mats frm a dealer, Hookin it up!!!

 

Which model are you looking at getting?

 

get a bone stock scion. Then add on parts slowly.

do not let the dealer do anything. buy everything online and find other local scion owners to help you install it. where do u live?

10g is still too low for a used decent tC... When you figure out tax, registration, plates, etc... you will still be in the hole.

I was just looking at eBay... there are some used tCs in the 15k price range possibly. Take a look. But you gotta figure in shipping or a way to pick it up too - $$

not trying to pimp (even though I am), you can get a supercharged used tC from a person like myself for around $15,900 Other used tC's should start at around $12k and go up from there

Either way, I would buy used. Let the original owner take the 25% value hit by putting the first mile on it.
